"My dad just killed my mom. He just told me to call you guys," the boy explained to a Grove City police dispatcher on Sunday. "He just ran outside and killed my mom. And she's laying in the grass in front of the apartment."
The boy's father, Jeremy Roberts, told police that he used "only" a knife to carry out the alleged murder of his ex-wife, 38-year-old Candice Roberts, according to the audio.
When officers arrived on the scene shortly after 9 a.m., they found the victim "in a grassy area... deceased from apparent stab wounds," according to a press release.
In the 911 recording, Roberts addresses the dispatcher in an even tone while saying that he loves his children."What did you do?" the dispatcher asks the suspect."She's covered in a blanket. You guys will see," Roberts replied.
