I know the housing market is slowly improving but people are only buying the low end homes in the $250,000 range, there isn't much interest in custom homes these days and I don't expect that to change any time soon.
I'd say hang tight... I think we are going to bounce along the bottom here for a bit longer.

Some housing markets are stabilizing, but there are still an enormous amount of foreclosures that have yet to hit the market. The glut in homes will keep prices down for years... and Duchess is correct that the sweet spot is $250K or lower.

Credit will remain tight unless you're not completely underwater and have stable employment.

Europe is an enormous drag on the world economy, as is the debt of the US. China has serious economic problems as well that they have been hiding, but the cracks are starting to show.

Just my $.02
The US credit card needs to be melted, the US consumer needs to back off of spending, and the criminally entitled need to be cut off.

Other than that our future is so bright we all should be wearing shades.
I think it depends on what state you live in and how they keep their own house. The world looks a bit shaky but the guy living in a tent under the stars in Ethiopia is happy as hell.
I have the answer everyone is looking for.

send me 5.00 and a self addressed stamped envelope and I will share the answer with you.
