Some of you may think this is too personal of a question, if so, ignore it.

Do you think your car payment is high? Mine is 325.00 & I'm wondering if that's average.
Mine is $966.61 so I think you're doing good.
We paid outright for our last two cars so I don't have a car payment now. We'll probably finance the car I'm shopping for now though because rates are so low my husband can invest the money and get a better return than the interest we'll be paying on the loan.

I'll get back to you but off hand, I'd say $325 doesn't sound that high.

Gawddamn. I'm delighted to pay that 325.00 now.

I saw a BMW SUV the other day and it is bee-u-tee-ful. It has a lovely shape, lots of room and Beemers run forever. I have one in the garage that has over a quarter million miles on it. It's old & I don't drive it, it was the former Mrs. Cowboy's.
I paid cash for all of my cars except my avenger and I paid $432 a month. My ex pays almost $800 a month bc he had to have a brand spanking new truck every 3 years and always had to borrow more to pay off a previous loan. Did you buy your vehicle brand new? If so, id say $325 is about right.

Yeah, I did.

I'm not going to grumble about my payment anymore after seeing what some pay, especially Sally.
Its about right then. Car payments are a pain in the ass, no matter how little or how much they are. My sister pays $120 a month and pisses and moans.

Huh. I haven't even looked at the BMW's only because years ago (and I'm talking 12+ years ago) somebody told me they were totally unreliable and wildly expensive to maintain. I'll have to read up on them.

Right now, I'm between the MDX or, if I decide to save some money, a loaded Toyota Highlander (the Limited). Either way, my husband is determined to pimp my ride. He wants me to get mud guards and floor boards and all this extra stuff.

If I get an MDX, I'm probably NOT going to get this option (I'll do the braking, thanks anyway) but my jaw dropped slightly when I saw this feature. Jeebus.

To help reduce the likelihood of a frontal impact, the Advance Package includes the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™).

Powered by a radar transmitter mounted in the MDX grille, a signal is constantly transmitted and the return signal is evaluated, determining the distance and closing speed of detected objects that lie directly ahead.
If a collision is possible, the system will sound audio and visual alerts to warn the driver.
If the driver does not take action to reduce speed, the CMBS will automatically tug at the driver’s seat belt and begin light braking.
When the system senses that a frontal collision is unavoidable, and even if no prior alerts have been given, the front seat belts tighten, and strong braking is automatically applied to help reduce the impact velocity and collision force.

The MDX also has a feature where the side mirrors have little lights on them if someone is in your blind spot(s). I like that but I'm not sure I can get it without getting the feature above.

And yes, Maggot. I know it's crazy but I'm getting power windows. hah
That MDX sounds awsome. The 2013 Accord Touring has all that stuff too. I have a 2012 Accord and my payment is $310 which is fine with me. I think paying these astronomical car payments is crazy. But then again cars are so expensive these days so I guess that what's you get when you don't have a lot of money to put down.
Mine was $65,000. I could have went with something much cheaper, but you only live once.

My husband paid about that for his 2007 Lexus.

I can't entirely escape my upbringing. My dad was a multimillionaire but he used to say "why would I buy a Mercedes when I can buy 4 Ford Fairmonts for less"?

It pains me to spend so damn much on a car but I might just blame it on my husband. He doesn't have the same compunctions.
If you can afford it User, get exactly what you want with all the goodies on it. Why deny yourself?
I pay $420 a month, can't wait for December 2013!

It just seems extravagant. However, I went and looked at the Highlander a little while ago and there were several things I didn't like about it (the interior design mostly).

Duchess, I just did an online side-by-side comparison of the MDX to the comparable BMW and I was amazed at some of the things the BMW made optional or didn't offer at all. From what I saw, it doesn't even have a universal garage door opener! The list was lengthy. I had heard that Acura gives you a lot of bang for the buck; that seems to be true.

I'm going to go look at the newer Acuras this weekend but I think that's what I'm going to end up getting.
Wow, that was weird!! I was just reading this post, and my phone rang. It was about my car payment. They were supposed to take it out yesterday, but didn't. (It's automatic withdrawl out of my checking account.)

We pay $340 a month...and we owe $2600.

Almost done! Blowing-kisses
I usually buy my vehicles out right. I mostly drive my company car though.

How do you afford it?
I just bought a Nissan Altima 2 weeks ago. $350 a month.

I can't believe how much shit I've gotten for buying a Jap car. Toyotas are the most american made car, and my car was made in Tennessee by american workers...so why should anyone give a fuck?
