I can't see your video for some reason, SphincterCop. But, have been following the story.

McAfee has always been an interesting character, especially for a software development type. Very off-the-wall edgy guy.

He bailed his Anti-Virus company and moved to Central America in 1999 to avoid taxes and start a yoga company, or something like that. Recently, he was trying to start a company to produce all natural antibiotics through "anti-quorum sensing technology". He was worth $100 million when he left the software industry and is worth $4 million today.

He told Wired magazine on 11/12/12 that his dogs were recently poisoned by Belize anti-gang police forces (which they deny) and that he buried himself in the sand with a cardboard box over his head while police searched his house because he knows the police are out to kill him.

His neighbor that was shot in the back of the head and killed, Faull, had been involved in disputes with McAfee over McAfee's many dogs. McAfee claims that Mr. Faull was most likely shot by mistake by someone who wanted to kill him (McAfee) and got the wrong house. He claims that he knows nothing about the shooting.

I don't know if McAfee is involved or not; some media sources say he's a "person of interest" only, while others say Belize LE has officially named him as a suspect. In either case, I wouldn't be surprised if the man is on drugs or experiencing Schizophrenia solely based on his increasingly bizarre behaviour and interviews over the years. That's just my opinion and speculation only.

I hope he's found soon. Very interesting story.

Here's the link to the Wired interview, along with a photo that he provided them.

"With lots of time on my hands and very little to do with it, I've been reflecting on the recent detour my life has taken. How did I end up as a murder suspect on the lam?"

Great story posted on CBS. However, its rather long.

Odd, it was from Youtube......works for me. Wonder if its not working for anyone else. Thanks for posting!!! This is probably going to end with a SHOOT OUT because this guy is off his rocker!
I'm worried that you're right, SphincterCop. This may well end with a shoot-out and/or McAfee is going to take down someone that he imagines is trying to take him down before he's captured. He ain't been living in the real world for quite some time, imo.

Thanks for the story link!
Well, apparently Mr. McAfee is blogging while on the run! Amazing LOL

Enjoy if you care to read it yourself.

Cuckoo or just smart?

He is also offering 25,000 for the capture of the "real" killer(s).

This is in reference to his "disguise."

"The first day I colored my full beard and my hair light grey- almost white. I darkened the skin of my face, neck and hands carefully with shoe polish and put on an LA Saints baseball cap with the brim facing backwards and tufts of the front of my hair sticking out unkempt through the band. I stuffed my cheeks with chewed bubble gum stuck to the outside of my upper and lower molars – making my face appear much fatter. I darkened and browned my front teeth. I stuffed a shaved down tampon deep into my right nostril and died the tip dark brown – giving my nose an awkward, lopsided, disgusting appearance. I put on a pair of ragged brown pants with holes patched and darned. I wore an old, ragged long sleeve shirt. I donned an old Guatemalan style sarape and toted a bag containing a variety of Guatemalan woven goods. I adjusted my posture so that I appeared a good six inches shorter than my actual height and slowly walked up and down the beach with a pronounced limp, pushing an old single speed bicycle and peddling my wares to tourists and reporters using a broken English with a heavy Spanish accent. On my second day, while peddling small wooden carvings, I nearly sold a dolphin carving to an Associated Press reporter standing at the edge of my dock. He was pulled away from my enticement by an urgent phone call."
Internet tycoon John McAfee talks to CNN's Martin Savidge about being on the run from authorities in murder mystery. Interesting interview though......

Good grief! nothing like an older man dying his hair jet black to look youngerhah but, I know it was part of his disguise running from a tyrannical government.

We need investigative reporters down there to interview local citizens maybe some are scared of the government.

What a wild adventurer he is, between his Blog, the neighbour's murder, the dogs, the disguises, his notions about a pirate government, he looks like a pirate himself hah sandy beaches, this is movie material better than "Mosquito Coast".

Hope things work out decent.
UK Daily Mail Dec., 5th 2012 is reporting that John McAfee is in Guatemala City, where he aims to ask for asylum.

Check out the "Smooch" hah

I agree that this story is playing out like a movie, NightOwl. Very weird. McAfee is a unique character, gotta give him that.

I'm glad he's been caught and hope that he is punished appropriately if he did indeed kill his neighbor.

P.s. His public messages while he was a fugitive kinda reminds me of the Barefoot Bandit saga from a couple of years back.
Bizarre when your that rich you don't kill people yourself, I look forwards to him being psychologically evaluated.

Me too.

McAfee's been a bizarre character for years and years. I'm interested to learn whether that's because he's just a strange duck, or instead has a mental illness, or if it's due to being under the influence of mind-altering drugs.

I'm glad he's finally in custody. I don't know if he killed his neighbor, but I think his being on the run when he perceived authorities were on a mission to kill him was a dangerous situation for himself and others.
This story is filled with so many twists and turns, I don't know what to believe anymore. Well respected news organizations reported last weekend he was arrested, and then realized it was a hoax. I think he "offed" his neighbor over killing his dog. Not sure I blame him, but the whole thing is ODD!!! Then again, so is McAfee

John McAfee, the antivirus software pioneer who's spent the better part of the last month trying to evade authorities in Belize, has "suffered two mild heart attacks," Reuters reports.

McAfee, 67, was taken to a hospital in Guatemala after having convulsions, according to CNN.

The Associated Press, however, reports that McAfee was suffering only from "high stress":

McAfee told The Associated Press that he had suffered chest pains overnight but didn't believe he had suffered a heart attack. A government doctor who examined him agreed, saying McAfee's heart rhythm and blood pressure were normal, and he appeared to be suffering from high stress.

Matt Gutman from ABC news TWEETED this photo he took. "McAfee appeared unresponsive, but when nurses undressed him, he said quite clearly, "please not in front of the press"

A reasonable enough request?
