PHOENIX — A Phoenix couple who ran a childcare business out of their home face felony child abuse charges after a 3-year-old girl died after being discovered not breathing in the home, police said.

Ryan Reed, 27, and Allison Clement, 28, could face additional charges after an autopsy on Savannah Cross, Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump said Wednesday.

Her cause of death was not immediately known.

Savannah had numerous injuries when she died Tuesday and said Reed admitted to striking, kicking, and roughly grabbing the girl on numerous occasions, Crump said. Clement reportedly told detectives she witnessed the abuse but did nothing to stop it.

Savannah was staying with the couple full-time, and her mother occasionally stopped by to pay.

It was not clear if either had a lawyer.

Stayed with the couple full time? What does that mean? Full time daycare while the mother worked? Or full time as in 24/7?

The story was limited, I'll try to keep track of it. Makes me wonder if the kid was there all day, or was living there as well???
