Unfortunately that would be lost on my kids... Santa hasn't switched to gift bags yet at the North Pole. It would put too many elves out of work, and their union is a real pain in the ass already I hear.

I'm working today, but going to a pot-luck Festivus party at my friends bar late tonight.

I didn't realize until yesterday that a lot of people have taken to celebrating Festivus since that Seinfeld episode. It's really just for laughs for us.

I think that the "airing of the grievances" around the table will be great - all a bunch of wiseasses.

Imagining that the "feats of strength" will be drinking related; I'll probably be labeled a pussy because I'm the only one working tomorrow. I can live without the hangover.

They've even got an aluminum pole set up in the dart corner.

Should be a lot of fun...

I'm leaving in a few minutes to go get one more present before the crowds come out. Later, wrapping and stuff whilst watching some football. Maybe the freaking tree will get done today too.

My grandson is way too into TMNT. Spent $150 on a secret sewer lair from Santaani

that took me 3 hours to put together. And the stickers are kind of all fucked-up.

But then, I put it together after a night of Chuckie Cheese. And coming home to drink a few Drinking too much

after he went to sleep.

Haven't taken him to see Santaani

yet, so that is the plan.

... sleeping throughout the house. And by the time they wake-up , I'll be @ Riverpark with the little man. Taking Santa pics and having an adventure. Just like I did, once upon a time, before I became a grandma. And had to start at the beginning all over again.

It's not bad, really. Mostly I have to be available if there's a client emergency, get staff lined up to cover if employees call in sick (that's the worst of it), answer the phones and log calls if potential clients respond to my holiday campaign... Lots of down time to mess around, just can't party or be out and about.

I have a great operations manager who will cover most of that for me on Christmas night; she's got weekends and most of the holidays off - she really deserves it and it saves me money to do it myself anyway. I'm taking 3 full days off (except emergency calls) and getting away starting New Year's Eve. That'll be great.

What are you and your cute buddy doing today?
