Damn it. This story made me cry 3 years ago and now again; as much out of anger as out of sadness.

I couldn't follow Ethan's case beyond the initial reporting, it's too heartbreaking.

Imo, this should be a death penalty case for both his POS mom and the POS stepfather. The very least that should be on the table for jury consideration is life without parole. Neither should ever walk freely again.

I fucking hate this couple.

In this case they may have projected the hatred they harbored for the natural father onto the little boy who was a reminder of his existence in their lives. Their hatred bonded them together since neither had the ability to love.

That's usually the case. There was one here where the boyfriend severely beat a 3 year old in a hotel room and left him to die while him and the mother ordered pizza and a movie. Monsters.

They both need to be starved for a week then fed pizza laced with rat poison and mountain dew with anti-freeze and crushed glass in it.

General population is better. This kind of scum sits below the rapists and kiddy fiddlers in their eyes. It'll never be retribution for that little boy, but being tortured by a thousand special animals on a day to day basis would be a step towards it.

That's the thing I don't get either. There had to be some sort of signs that these two POS's were "off". I'd be interested to know what kind of investigation is done when determining which parent gets custody rights (if any). Do they do any kind of psychological testing?

A 24-year-old Phoenix man beat his 2-year-old son to death with a belt while the child's mother failed to act before her child's death, police say. (HOTD: Mom came home after the beating and was told by a witness why the baby was lethargic and bruised, but didn't take the baby to the hospital or call for help.)

Darnell Alvarez, and Davieanna Blake, the child's parents, left their child to die instead of getting medical attention, fearing that Child Protective Services would be called if they took him to the hospital, according to court documents obtained by New Times.

Alvarez admitted to striking the boy twice with a belt in the morning for wetting the bed, and hit him twice again in the afternoon after defecating in his underwear.

"The child dropped to the floor and attempted to roll away," the probable-cause statement says. "Darnell continued to follow the child, striking him repeatedly as the child continued to follow the child, striking him repeatedly as the child continued to try to get away."

The boy wouldn't eat later, and according to the court documents, "Darnell stated he may have been heavy handed when disciplining the child."

Both Alvarez and Blake were booked into jail on charges of first-degree murder and child abuse. Alvarez's bond was set at $500,000, and Blake's was set at $250,000.

UPDATE TO OPENING POST -- ETHAN STACY MURDER -- GUILTY PLEAS & SENTENCING



Back in February, piece of shit stepfather Nathan Sloop pleaded guilty, while mentally ill, to the aggravated murder of Ethan and to second-degree felony aggravated assault for attacking a Davis County jail officer.Nathan Sloop was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for Ethan's murder and one to 15 years for the aggravated assault.

Today, piece of shit mother Stephanie Sloop pleaded guilty to Ethan's aggravated murder and second-degree felony obstructing justice while telling a Farmington judge: "I am entirely responsible because I was his mommy." Stephanie Sloop was sentenced for both charges which will run concurrently as part of a plea deal, giving her 20 years to life in prison.


Ethan Stacy ^ was scalded with hot water, beaten, starved and overmedicated before succumbing to his injuries sustained between April 29 and May 8, 2010 while he was visiting his mother (bio dad had custody).

The Sloops disfigured his corpse by burning it and bashing it with a hammer. He was then buried in a shallow grave whose surface was sprinkled with dog food.

At her sentencing today, Stephanie Sloop told the court: "Aside from my selfishness, my addiction to prescription medication and failure to get help paved the way for this tragedy," Sloop told the judge of her abuse. "I failed to recognized the signs, or rather, I just out-and-out ignored them, doing what I wanted to, like always. My selfishness wouldn't let me accept that I had 'a problem,' let alone let another else try to help me."
