I'm already fucked. My kids think I'm retarded because I can't just pull this shit out of my ass on command and actually have to look it up. They're certain that when they're my age, they'll retain every bit of knowledge they learned from elementary school on up.

You're right and I'm working on letting go. Unfortunately I'm genetically wired to do this shit. My dad bought a full-sized chalkboard for teaching us math...plus he had a big belt on the side (which to my relief, but not my brothers, was more directed at them than my sister and I). Fortunately the "beat your kid" with a belt gene seems to have petered out but not so much the YOU WILL SUCCEED part. Like I said, I'm working on it.
