THANK YOU LC!!! My husband is in LE and I would prefer that HE NOT risk HIS LIFE for THOSE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!! But NO!!! He risks his life for THOSE people with every car stop that he makes and every call that he answers!!! ABSOLUTELY NO APPRECIATION OR RESPECT!!! For those of you who feel this way, how about NOT calling on LE when YOU need help!!! Your husband chose his profession and your husband is paid for it. I pray he is never harmed in this line of work but it is a very risky job and in fact, as hijacked as the judicial system is in this country, I for one remain surprised that there are not more LE personnel killed each year than there are, especially judges.
We had a state trooper killed a few miles from where I live, a couple of years ago. The guy was travelling from Florida with his registration and driver's license paperwork in perfect order. The trooper stopped him and apparently became belligerent with the motorist. I can see this happening easily in my mind's eye because I have seen it on the undercover cop shows. There are some LE personnel (not saying all are that way of course) who are arrogant and overbearing. This state trooper was pushing his weight around that night and as it so happened, he was pushing his luck around. As the trooper begged for his life, the motorist ended it. Unfortunately, you can see the motorist's point of view. Everything is legal. He has been stopped and now he has a state trooper with an attitude on his hands and he snaps... he simply is not going to take it any longer. The motorist is facing the prospect of life in jail if not the needle (I think he should get the needle) but had the state trooper been a more respectful individual of a motorist he most certainly would be alive today to see his newborn child.
Now, while the motorist's paperwork was in order, he was carrying drugs. Once again, one can make the argument that if you do not give a law enforcement individual a reason to lose their lives, that person would still be alive. It is just a shame to see one man dead and another man's life ruined over a handful of pills. There has to be a better way when you consider societies have been using and abusing 'controlled substances' for generations and it didn't harm them.
NO, I CAN NOT SEE THE MOTORIST'S POINT OF VIEW!!
LE deals with ASSHOLES on a daily basis. They have to have a certain demeanor. You cant walk around acting like a little pussy. Im sure if they were arresting ppl while using their manners they would get a whole lot of respect. And yes their are some dirty cops, like in most professions. The majority of them are out there to protect and serve. Its not a job I would take, so I would have to say THANK YOU! To the men and woman out there that put their lives on the line for me, my family, and my community. It pisses me off to hear ppl say shit like that. Quit blaming the fucking police. And when you need help someday dont call 911, call your fucking MaMa.

All such cases where government assistance by support or legal process is sought now require the taking of DNA from the mother, the child and the reputed father, even when the latter admits paternity (he sometimes turns out to be wrong!) and when more than one man is named, all the men are joined and required to submit to DNA. Usually by a simple buckle swab to the inside of the cheek.
Therefore, the DNA bank is growing larger by the day, and will soon likely include at least one person in the familial line for each member of the population.
In addition, if you have ever had any blood or tissue sample sent to a laboratory, a significant percentage are retained under slide. Which is just good medical practice, especially for example to follow the progress of so-called pre-cancer cells.
I do not consider any of this to be a so-called "invasion of privacy" simply because in each instance there is a triggering event which constitutes a legitimate waiver of the privilege, and it is leading and will continue to lead to many societal benefits, including the solving of cold case crimes, more convictions of persons rightfully accused of crime, more rapid convictions, less "pleading down" because of evidentiary problems, more innocent people being released from prisons or exonerated quicker in new cases, etc.
Thanks to DNA, many murderers now plead to first degree murder charges just to avoid the death penalty, in cases where the DA previously was willing to accept a plea to 2nd degree or even manslaughter.
I am not connected with law enforcement and never have been. But I have a healthy interest in society and the laws.
I beg to differ....I think you need Google "FATHER'S AFFIDAVIT/ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF PATERNITY" which is a form offered at the time of birth, at the hospital.
Dad CAN admit paternity WITHOUT a paternity test by signing the affidavit....should he or the mother for that matter, change their mind and want a blood test, they have 60 days to recind the affidavit at Child Support.
Otherwise, a "Complaint to Vacate & Request Genetic Testing" has to be filed at the Juvenile Court and it is up to a Judge to (rule on the motion) decide if they can have a blood test.

Unalienable rights are not "privileges" doled out by the state. The state of Texas was caught surreptitiously collecting the DNA of newborns and they have been forced to destroy it. Parents thought the blood spots were just to check for diseases and did not consent to this big brother cataloguing of human beings as though they were the property of the state - or big pharma. Giving up ones unique life blueprint should be done by choice, not stealth.
SS....I see a shift in perception thanks to the likes of Facebook, twitter, everpresent cameras in day to day life and a myriad of other technologies. I hear your arguement and its a damn good one but the "concept of privacy" is changing and in the future may almost not exist. The phone, radio, TV, internet, home security systems, Iphones, netbooks, in everyones life will see to this shift and its coming fast.

ZERO, I agree that liberty is under attack. Doesn't mean that the non sheeple have to go along with it like the brain dead zombies.
And, for all of the people who are fawning over LE, what part of good and bad don't you get? If a cop saves your life, s/he's a saint. If he guns down your innocent loved one, what is s/he? It is not a black & white issue.

SS says in reply:
The use of DNA to convict or exonerate is fine. The nanny state collecting it on people who don't have the intellectual capacity to understand their rights is another matter.
You sound like a collectivist believing in some "greater good" usurping the unalienable rights of the individual. I consider myself at war with that mentality. That's the mentality that exists in places like the UK. It is completely contrary to every principal that our founders held dear.
I do not consider any of this to be a so-called "invasion of privacy" simply because in each instance there is a triggering event which constitutes a legitimate waiver of the privilege...

Methusala responds:
Allow me to draw a finer point on our perceived differences of opinion, SS:
I agree that what Texas did was highly improper.
But, if a woman asks the state to provide her with the costs of hospitalization and delivery of her child and/or support by the state; if a man or woman asks the courts of the state to establish paternity and enforce rights to child support or custody or parental access and time-sharing …
are you saying that in those circumstances a state does not have the right to require that, in return for the individual invoking the powers of the state and its courts, the state may have on the books a law requiring the furnishing of DNA by the parties affected by its actions?
As for being a "collectivist" the whole point of people getting together and creating states and other forms of government is for the purpose of leveraging the power of the people, so as to protect people and obtain the strength found in numbers. IMHO that's why we have constitutions which define the powers of the state and reserve all other powers to the people.
The people have all the rights not granted to the state, and the state is to exercise the will of the people.
Absent granting some collective powers to a state created by the people, one has anarchy. You're not an anarchist, are you?
I didn't think so.

This just in....
In news that is sure to send shock-waves through the present US legal system, Liberty and Freedom have separated.
Rumor has it that Liberty was upset because Freedom was having an affair with Justice.

This is not the reporting officers fault, they can only write a report with the facts they have available at the time and, for whatever reason they felt a charge of felonious assult was warranted. HOWEVER, the Prosecutor felt differently, the evidence to convict wasn't there.
In my opinion, there's a BIG difference between a charge on a police report and a CONVICTION.

JsMom, I was appalled at how you acted on the original FB "Justice" page. You, a complete stranger, had the audacity to try and come off as Maytee's biggest supporter and new bff.
If anyone else followed the original "Justice" page and saw how you clung to Maytee and posted that you loved her, and were there for her , then THEY WILL UNDERSTAND where I am coming from!!
Maytee is OBVIOUSLY off her rocker- BUT she is NOT the ONLY ONE!!! Within a matter of minutes, you went from supporting Maytee to bashing her on this forum. I do not agree with Maytee and the way that she is lashing out. BUT worse than her behavior, is YOURS!!! She is obviously extremely unstable and devastated and has made VERY bad decisions. AGREED. BUT who are you to TARGET a grieving mother and then LASH OUT at HER?!?!??!?!
Seriously, it is one thing for people to view Maytee as a crazy woman who needs to stop running her mouth. :stir_shit: And it is fine to posts all those thoughts on this forum!! But when you slither your way into her personal life to the point of her feeling comfortable enough with you to text you from her phone, then that is JUST SICK!!! And then, after you have pushed your way into her life, and then send nasty texts to her cell phone calling her a "BITCH" - you really look like a LOWLIFE, even next to the likes of Maytee. :O
In my opinon, YOU CRAWLED UP her ASS and SHE FARTED YOU OUT!!!
Gives a whole other dimension to POOF BE GONE!!!!
Hear, hear, Inspector Gary!!! I agree with every word you've said.
BRAVO!
I totally agree as I myself had stated on i don't remember if it was here or not that M was illiciting a reaction from Maytee. I also thought it was weird to tell someone u don't even know that u love them ! That being said I love Mock and hope that there will be a arrest soon so that there can be some kind of closure for the families of these kids. I know I would probably never be the same if something like this happened to one of my children. I can't even imagine how I would deal with it !
This is the last Im going to comment on these posts! I DID LOVE HER IN A FRIENDSHIP KINDA WAY! I TRIED TO BE THERE FOR HER AS A "friend" BECAUSE I HAVE LOST A CHILD I didnt have no one there for me! I know ALL ABOUT GRIEVING! NOW~IM DONE WITH ALL THIS BS! I have MY DAMN REASONS why I no longer feel bad for her! I do in the sense of losing a child but nothing more! HELL SHES ON THERE WISHIN DEATH ON ALL US MOCKERS AND OUR KIDS! COME ON NOW MAYBE U ALL DONT CARE BUT I DO! sorry
If you understand LOSS and GRIEVING, then WHY attack a grieving mother?!?!?!!!?!
I think that EVERYONE (for the most part at least) AGREES that Maytee is in need of serious mental help. And I do not say that in a mean way, just stating the obvious (IMO). I do NOT agree with her, but in NO WAY would I go out of my way to ATTACK HER!! She can have her rants, I choose to disagree without having a DIRECT CONFRONTATION with an unstable, grieving mother!! Say what you will on this forum, but to solicit her friendship and trust, and then so publicly trash her is despicable!!
AND if you truly wanted to offer your support and "love her in a friendship kind of way" and "be there for her as a friend," then when things began to fall apart between the two of you, why not quietly distance yourself from her and ignore inappropriate comments. No need to text her on her private cell phone trashing her!! Just end communication if it came to that point.
After all, you keep going on and on about understanding how hard it is to lose a child and grieving, so if that is true, then you of all people should know that YOU CROSSED THE LINE with a grieving mother!!!
As far as Maytee's rantings, they do not offend me. Ever hear of "water off a duck's back?" When I read her posts, my jaw often drops, but other than that, I FEEL SORRY for a woman who is obviously in crisis mode and in serious NEED of HELP!! After reading the type of things that she writes, I am surprised that anyone takes her seriously enough to be offended!!
