Would you forgive your spouse after an affair? Are there certain circumstances in which you might be willing to forgive? My husband and I split 2 years ago and I am great with it, but several of my friends are going through divorces or separations and some are having a VERY hard time with it. I don't claim to be anything special but my friends really are very attractive, intelligent, successful women in their late 30s, early 40s. THREE of their husbands have left them for very young girls (21-23). I would kick all their asses to the curb but I am trying to be a supportive friend.

With the sexually charged society we live in, I think we should try to forgive if we possibly can or so many families will be destroyed. Sometimes a marriage can survive an affair and actually be better because you have to face what the problems were. One thing I read years ago and sure enough has turned out to be true ..."when a woman leaves a man, it is because she is unhappy...when a man leaves another woman, it is for another woman". There are exceptions of course but so true. A man is not a nester and has to go to another nest...a woman can be happy alone.
