COLORADO CITY, Texas -- Volunteers have called off all searching for missing Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn.

Since Hailey went missing from her Colorado City home in December, groups of volunteers have searched areas around the city and neighboring region.

What were once daily searches in the beginning were scaled back to twice a week – then weekly.

Now searchers say that because of the extreme heat and fuel costs, they will instead concentrate on getting word out of the missing girl.

The searchers said they will still conduct foot searches when they receive creditable information.

Seven months after Hailey Dunn went missing, the story has gone from a local search to taking over national headlines.

But the face that's been all over billboards and fliers everywhere, may not even look like the missing teen. A new picture has surfaced showing Hailey a week before she went missing, and when compared to the older photos, some are finding the differences alarming.

"It doesn't look like the same picture that we posted," exclaimed Patricia Trichel, the mother of Naomi Dunn, Hailey's Father's baby mama.

It's reported this photo surfaced after a camera memory card was recently released by a person close to the family.

"This has not been put out on TV, where we can look for this little girl," added Trichel over the phone.

"We have wasted seven months."

When asked why other photos were never explained as old and out-dated, Trichel said, "So many people put out so many pictures. It became confusing."

However with a new picture out, some are finding a renewed hope for the missing girl.

This case has been a balls-up since day one.

Since when is it legal in the US to have child pornography either on your computer or on DVD, VCR or paper images? Why are no arrests being made? If you have to arrest everyone with access to the computer and memory stick-so be it. I bet LE would get some answers then. Everyone with access could be subject to 20 yrs. prison time per image-they'd be singing like birds.

I believe Hailey is dead, but at least her remains would receive proper handling-not treated like garbage.

Hailey's been missing for 8 months. I think she's deceased, but still hold onto a glimmer of hope that she's alive. Whatever happened, it's not fair. 14 years old, she should be having fun celebrating her birthday with her friends...

I don't know what to make of this case anymore. Billie and Shawn are liars, imo. Clint is useless. I was supportive of LE having to work with this band of characters. Now, I don't know if CCPD is doing an extremely good job at giving nothing away, or if they are truly doing very little. Was there any child porn or not? Did they ever verify an alibi for Shawn the morning of the 27^th, or not?

This presser is weird. I don't completely trust Billie's supporters' words. If LE really called them in to "make a deal" to find Hailey, that's weird. What deal? Who was giving up what in exchange for what?

And why do Billie and Clint wait around for an invitation to talk to LE? They should be proactive in the case to find their daughter and fully cooperative. If LE is telling them nothing, I assume they are POIs or simply not considered trustworthy by LE.

Nothing makes sense to me in this case. First, Texas Ranger Sparky Dean said Hailey was in hiding. Then CCity Manager Pete Kampfer says he thinks she's dead. Now we hear from Billie's supporters that bones found at search sites weren't ever tested. Messed up. JMO...

Friends, family and volunteers wrote messages on cards; attaching them to balloons they released into the sky.

The missing teens mother, Billie Dunn, who has since moved to Austin was there, along with SUSPECT Shawn Adkins. HOW FUCKING TOUCHING YOU SLUT.

Adkins remains the only named suspect in the case of the missing teen.

That was a strange presser. I don't know who the woman with the white t-shirt standing next to Billie Dunn is? Her quote:

"It's obvious they don't care enough to even be present at this, at this balloon release. You know, a lot of times the perpetrator comes back and joins forces and looks at what's going on you know? You see any law enforcement here? No."

Sounds like she suspects Shawn.

Not sure what kind of deal supporters could make with the DA. This case just gets stranger all the time. I do understand their frustration.

You can only use the funds for exactly what they are being raised for,
nothing else. SO, if they are saying its for searching, and they dont donate
it to EQUUSEARCH or to provide something like coffee and donuts to
searchers who show up, and instead using it for rent because Mama aint
working, then there is a big problem.

yes i know to be cautious about online "friends" soliciting funds. she vanished pretty fast when questioned.

even if she was a friend of billie, i wouldn't have trusted any monies to be used anywhere besides dope and new TV and furniture. like other early donations.
