remember this guy's popular "art"? he was everywhere from TV to jigsaw puzzles.(prolific dreck. walmart art haha) he just died fairly young.

(CNN) -- Thomas Kinkade, one of the most popular artists in America, has died at his California home, his family said.

He was 54.

"Thom provided a wonderful life for his family,'' his wife, Nanette, said in a statement late Friday night. "We are shocked and saddened by his death.''

His death at his Los Gatos home appeared to be from natural causes, according to the family. More details will be released in the days ahead.

Art from the self-described "painter of light" adorns many living rooms in America. It emphasizes simple pleasures and warm, positive images of idyllic cottages, lighthouses and colorful gardens.

"My mission as an artist is to capture those special moments in life adorned with beauty and light," Kinkade said in a message on his website. "I work to create images that project a serene simplicity that can be appreciated and enjoyed by everyone. That's what I mean by sharing the light."

Kinkade was also an author, and his top sellers included "Masterworks of Light" and "The Artist's Guide to Sketching."

He painted more than 1,000 pieces on various topics, including cabins, nature scenes, seascapes and classic Americana.

Son, your ego is writing checks your body can't cash.

If you screw up just this much, you'll be flying a cargo plane full of rubber dogshit out of Hong Kong. Are we clear?

So, really Crash, if a Pilot is losing control of an aircraft, you're cool with him ditching it right into your house? Your entire family up in flames without this guy at least riding it all the way to the ground to try and avoid more deaths?

I'm not.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_San_Di...A-18_crash

In yesterday's crash, it sounds as though the pilots tried to do everything they could (fuel dump) and that they actually lost an engine. Plane was stalling and ditching the aircraft someplace safe was not an option.

At the same time, I'm sure they were thinking they should try and stay with the aircraft until the end. That's why the pilots were so apologetic when approached in their chutes. From the damage they saw, I'm sure they envisioned many, many dead.

Ok... disregarding your lame quotes and all..

So if the guy in the plane, who has trained his ass off to do what he's doing, and let's just assume that he's not intentionally flying it at my house, loses control of 15 odd tonnes of steel, plastic and electronics that's cruising at 500-1100mph and needs to make a split second decision about whether he lives or dies, and the kid he's training and is under his care does as well and he takes the option to opt out before he hits my house, because as to his best knowledge, there is nothing else he can do about it and the plane continues on to take out my house and family, how will it change how I feel if they stayed in the plane and died?

They're still dead. Life still dealt me a shitty hand. Looking for justice in a fucked up situation is idiocy.

Even the original comparison to the captain sinking with his ship is stupid. Yes, a captain should be the last to leave his ship. He has passengers and crew, who are ultimately in his care. Their welfare is his responsibility. If he gets them all off a sinking ship, why should he still go down with it?

The shit you people carry on with...

Edit: And I'm not your fucking Son, please don't refer to me as such

Are you really this moronic? Did someone say a ship captain should go down with his ship if ALL passengers are off? I don't think so.

In yesterday's case, I prefaced after having more knowledge of the circumstances, that I thought the crew had done everything they could at the time. The crew, as you can imagine, feels tons of guilt. Ultimately, they're responsible for their aircraft and who it injures/kills.

In the San Diego instance, if you read the report, you'll see there were tons of errors, and 4 people didn't need to die. The pilot was a TRAINEE, with no experienced pilot with him (like yesterday).

By the way, SON is an integral part of that movie quote. I hope you get over it.

Midwest you do understand that jets don't fly without power don't you?

They don't glide like you are thinking they do.

when the fire goes out the jet falls.

Where the fuck did the San Diego incident come into it? You're the first to mention it... We were talking about this incident, not what is going on inside your demented fucking head. By your logic, if your son was in the plane, it'd be fine...

The comment was made that 'They should have went down with their plane, much in the same way the retarded ship's captain should have went down with his ship.' My point was why should they have? The guy was doing what any good captain should do; Be responsible for the welfare of those in his care.

You're arguing with yourself and you're calling me moronic...assbiscuit

That's cool, Crash. I have more expectations of our military flight crews. And, yes, if my son perished in a flight where he continued TO THE GROUND trying to operate his plane in order to avoid casualties, I'd understand.

I never brought up the captain and his ship, but, should the captain of the Titanic gone down with his ship in your opinion?

First...the Titanic: I'm not the most informed person when it comes to the Titanic. I have no interest in it. I haven't read any literature on it and I haven't watched the movie with any great attention. Not that I'd give the movie too much factual credence when it came to the topic at hand anyway. But from what I understand many passengers and crew went down with the ship. If the captain went down with it trying to save as many of those souls as he could, he has done an admirable, and honorable job. If he scarpered from it like the Italian dickwad a month or so ago, disregarding the welfare of those in his care, he's a low-life.

Second... your son: You have said you understand the jet won't glide. It's had a catastrophic mechanical failure. In effect, he can't control where it will land. You're ok with him riding it to the death, killing a student in his care? Because I would be forever asking myself why I didn't raise a smarter boy... There is no honour in stupidity.

Or is it because if he survived you'd be too scared to face the stupid people like yourself that victimised him for not being a martyr?

The big 'if' here is 'if' it in fact has lost all power. I'm not sure yesterday's incident will conclusively show that.

How in the hell do you not know anything about the story of the Titanic?
I don't care if you are stuck in Tasmania.

So, thanks for deflecting.
