I feel a little bad that I don't really have any sympathy for Holly Patraeous. I think she could have taken better care of herself so her man didn't develop a wandering eye. She looks like a dyke.
I swear I'm not a mean person.

I agree Duchess but he still has no excuse. Yes, Mrs. P should freshen up her look and not look like her husband's grandmother. However, Mr. P needs to keep his P in his pants. Or get a divorce if he is no longer into her.

Doesn't sound mean to me; just honest.
I don't necessarily have sympathy for Mrs. Patraeous because I don't think we know whether she was aware of the affair and/or what kind of understanding Mr. and Mrs. P may have had.
If it turns out that she had no idea and is just finding out and processing this bullshit with all eyes upon her, I'll feel badly for her. Based on the bio SphincterCop posted upthread, Mrs. P seems to be a smart and decent person; albeit a frumpy one.
I didn't feel sympathy for Hillary Clinton when the whole Lewinsky and company matter went down (no pun intended). Some people think Hillary's unattractive and joked that it was therefore understandable what Bill did. Personally, I think she looks fine and I think she knew her husband like a book; the good and bad. Maybe Mrs. P does too.
If there's no corruption or breaches on Mrs. P's side, I hope she's a strong one like Hillary and this crap doesn't ruin her career and the good work that she does.

Actually, I quite agree. Maybe she likes mowing the grass instead of polishing the pole.
I don't think your comment is "mean"; it's a justified observation. Everyone can use a little help, or at least help themselves. Apparently, her husband took that route by dipping his wick away from home!

Do you also agree that the most physically attractive of people get cheated on too?
My friend is a very attractive man. His partner of 6 years was a downright beautiful man (well, still is). Didn't stop my friend from cheating.
IDK, guess I'm just not ready to say that Mr. P wouldn't have cheated and been such an utter dipshit in so doing by subjecting himself, his wife, his friends, and the intelligence agency to public ridicule and scrutiny if ony Mrs. P were prettier.

Whoever decides to cheat is an asshole; end of story. There are many avenues in why someone may do this, but you cannot play fireman and put every fire out in a relationship. I have been with my partner (hubby) since 2006 and I was very insecure around him. However, it takes two to make it work. We have our opinions about other men, but we are comfortable within our own relationship. It takes work! He is my key and I am his keyhole! LMAO!!!
On a more important note; it is true that this subject is getting bigger. Here is a snippet from a current news article.
In a new twist to the Gen. David Petraeus sex scandal, the Pentagon said Tuesday that the top American commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John Allen, is under investigation for alleged "inappropriate communications" with a woman who is said to have received threatening emails from Paula Broadwell, the woman with whom Petraeus had an extramarital affair.
Panetta said that he ordered a Pentagon investigation of Allen on Monday.
The official said 20,000 to 30,000 pages of emails and other documents from Allen's communications with Kelley between 2010 and 2012 are under review. He would not say whether they involved sexual matters or whether they are thought to include unauthorized disclosures of classified information. He said he did not know whether Petraeus is mentioned in the emails.
"Gen. Allen disputes that he has engaged in any wrongdoing in this matter," the official said. He said Allen currently is in Washington.
Panetta said that while the matter is being investigated by the Defense Department Inspector General, Allen will remain in his post as commander of the International Security Assistance Force, based in Kabul. He praised Allen as having been instrumental in making progress in the war.
The FBI's decision to refer the Allen matter to the Pentagon rather than keep it itself, combined with Panetta's decision to allow Allen to continue as Afghanistan commander without a suspension, suggested strongly that officials viewed whatever happened as a possible infraction of military rules rather than a violation of federal criminal law.
Allen was Deputy Commander of Central Command, based in Tampa, prior to taking over in Afghanistan. He also is a veteran of the Iraq war.

You're so clever with words.
I think Hillary absolutely has Bill's number. I also think there are a legion of women out there who overlook their husband's philandering in order to maintain the lifestyle they have become accustomed to.

Very true. Nice that you and your hubby get it and are realistic about it. He's a lucky man, imo.
This story is starting to remind me of one of those neighborhood "key parties" that I've read about from back in the 70s, minus the polyester and perms. Lots of intermingling and gettin' juicier by the day.

Sounds nice and sordid to me.
Was Ms Kelley blowing all the brass in Washington?
Where will it end?
She's about to enjoy her 15 minutes of fame, probably what she wanted in the first place.

I can't believe Kelley blew the whistle on Broadwell when she was having her own "inappropriate communications". What an idiot.
As an aside, I read this morning that Broadwell and the General shared an email account. They would make "draft" messages that each of them could view (without actually hitting send and creating a record). I'm going to do that when I start my affair.

I mean, could this go deeper? Was she a spy?
Very interesting...
