actually brush your dog's teeth?
I ask because my dog is at the vet, under sedation, getting her chompers and ears cleaned. I've done this once before so I know they're going to give me a dog toothbrush and toothpaste and a lecture after all of which will be a complete waste of time.
As much as I love my dog, hell if I'm going to wrestle her to brush her teeth every day.

Hey, hot damn! I rounded 10,000 posts.
Yeah, the dog groomer does do that. I should get her in for a grooming more often.

One of my Dads girlfriends used to try and brush his dogs teeth. She was a short stout Italian and it was quite comical to watch the Great Dane flip her over and proceed to chomp on the entire tube of toothpaste. Half the time he ended up covering the floor with the paste.

My dog loves a marrow bone, my market sells pet ones frozen.
There is a fingertip brush that seems to work well for some people.
I'm oldfashioned dogs don't get cavaties and who started this teeth brushing racket? if your puppy or dogs teeth look fine don't worry, I say. Milk Bone biscuits help clean & a greenie now and then. People can really over do things, I read where someone was shampooing their dog every week, talk about extreme!! the poor animal got dermatitis and needed Prednisone.
Dogs are smart! they manufacture their own vitamin C.
Congratulations! on 10,000 posts.

Thank you. I give my dog a dental chew every now and then. I also bought some stuff you can put in their water. She didn't seem to like it that much but maybe I'll try to give her that at least once a week or something.
Her teeth looked pretty nasty. She's about 10 now.
Hopefully her breath won't smell like goat ass for awhile.

You don't have to tell me. I'm skeered of horses. Even when my daughter was riding, I wouldn't pet a horse. Shame too because they're beautiful animals and I wanted to but I'm pretty sure they'd bite my face off.

I've never brushed my dogs teeth and the vet always says they look great. I only give them a bath once every 3 or 4 months too and they don't stink and their coats are nice and shiny. I think brushing their hair daily is probally the most important thing, for long hair breeds anyway.
My neighbor gives her dog a bath once a week and the thing stinks to high hell.

I was just about to comment that I'm lucky if I brush my own teeth most days, much less a dog's teeth.
When our family did have a dog(golden retriever) many years ago we never brushed the dog's teeth but gave it plenty of Milkbone dog biscuits which were supposed to be good for keeping the dog's teeth healthy.

Scoobie gets his teeth cleaned twice a year by the vet. We give him milk bones, Dentastix, and meaty bones. No brushing. Same for Jethro.
I would never leave the house without brushing my teeth. That's nasty.

Birds use your head for a toilet, I think forgetting to brush your teeth once in a while should be the least of your worries.

That's just a stupid insult. You don't like having it pointed out to you how nasty it is to not brush your teeth.

Frankly, I'm more worried at the strong possibility that bird's use username's skanky crotch as a toilet.
