with reward cards and programs. FFS, you can't go anywhere without someone asking you for your damn card or phone number. I just went in to a Shell mini-mart and the guy asked me for my reward card. For a mini-mart? Really?
Dumb.

I like guest incentive programs.
Seven more days on a cruise ship and they'll do my laundry on board for free.
Nightly Happy Hour cocktails, too.

I like to listen as my iPhone Starbucks app drops a golden star into my reward cup.
The little pinging sound is delightful and a gentle reminder I only need eleven more for a free beverage of my choice.

That's because you have nothing better to do than peruse online coupons and search for stupid weekly specials.
The cards don't magically provide the discounts, it's the damn stores. In the olden days they just put stuff on sale but no...

You realize you are just paying for your gas discount with higher prices don't you? Unless you stick with their sale items for that week, you will pay more than at hannaford.
I like the rewards cards cuz I get coupons and free food. I don't like that I have more key tags than keys on my keychain. Lol

They mark up the price and make you think you're getting a deal and then they track what you spend your money on and give you coupons as an incentive to buy crap you don't need. You're Mr. Retardo, Clang.
And it's a hell of a way to waste your goverment gas card and food stamps, I might add.

When I was little, my mom and grandma collected blue chip rewards stamps for purchases at lots of places; no cards or IDs needed IIRC.
It was seriously fun to fill up the booklets with stamps, working towards some cheezy prize from the catalogue.
Bring back the Squirrel!
That's all I've got. I personally only have a Safeway membership card and some old frequent flyer miles.

It's gone over the top. There's a rewards program at our hardware store. Plus, they taunt you. At Safeway they now have Just4U prices displayed on the shelves. If I'd been willing to sit on my ass in front of the computer, map out exactly what I was going to buy and download the coupons, I too could have had those prices. Fuck if I'm going to do that every damn week.

Government gas card? I get the discount gas with the Advantage card as well. You get so much off per gallon for every $50 you spend. Its my mom that wastes her money and my(and my brother's) food stamps. The $200(plus my brother's $200) a month food stamps is used to buy food for the whole family, except I have very little input in deciding what food we purchase. My mom likes to shop at Price Chopper and Hannaford. I caused her to have to file for bankruptcy who am I to refuse her?
Oh and its my Mom who clips the coupons. Believe it or not, I'm usually the one that says do we really need that? And my Mom says well why not? I have a coupon and its on sale. Its a really good deal.

I have a couple of supermarket cards, once scanned it activates "coupons" for whatever merchandise I may be checking out.

What do 'coupons' or 'food stamps' look like? Isn't it embarrassing instead of paying cash or card that you would give food stamps? What about New York, do people in New York have 'food stamps'?
