walking while black - Trayvon Martin
That same cop also said George exaggerated things. He's also the one that said, no George you weren't just following him you were chasing him.

George's injuries were insignificant. I've always thought they were and it really meant something to hear the ME call them that.

Yes, Duchess, he said those things, but he also said, at the end of it all, that he believes GZ is telling the truth.

As for injuries, you realize in order to fear for your life, you need not be beaten within an inch of your life?

With all the posts today and all the, what ifs and I thinks, I just cant figure out what happened today. Can someone summarize today's events because from all the comments it doesn't sound like it was a good day for the prosecution.

If T was so scared of this ass cracker following him, why wouldn't he simply duck into his house?

Oh... because he was a badass right?

As I've said from day one:

When seeking a confrontation, and subsequently throwing the first punch, you'd better hope dude is unarmed.

Hope you sleep well too.

BTW, what did you think of the detectives testimony when he said he lied to GZ in saying that someone had videotaped the confrontation, hoping to get Z to change his story or confess?

Z simply said, 'good, I'm glad somebody got it on tape.'

To me, if he had something to hide that's not the reaction I'd expect.

The bottom line for me is that George Zimmerman is a big fat liar. I take none of his story as truth. He may not have even seen Trayvon running. Or skipping. Trayvon sure as hell did not come back out of the darkness and circle GZ's truck a second time.

Trayvon for sure tried to ditch George by running around the corner at the clubhouse, and hanging out underneath the overhang at the mailboxes. For all I know GZ may have left the clubhouse in his vehicle turned the corner toward the T, and GZ not seeing Trayvon, assumed that Trayvon was running, and ran toward the backgate like all the other assholes that had gotten away.

I do not take any of George's statements as truth.

And all that may-have-video-taped convo is GZ's fucked up mindset of the minutes before the gunshot. Has nothing to do with the fact that George had already set his target on Trayvon.

Interesting point, User, and one that I won't disregard.

However, why not hang up with the girlfriend and call 9/11?

And, I'm still of the belief that T sought him out. Went back to him.

Hahahahaha. I did but there were not enough facts and to many "what ifs". The only thing I could tell is the anti Z side seams to be a little wound up today.

The ME testified George's injuries were insignificant. A cop testified that George exaggerated parts of his statement. Someone testified that T was walking towards George which contradicts George's statement that he was ambushed.

Thanks Duch.

Thats it, I would have expected much more activity than that after 5-6 pages of posts.

It was a mixed day for the prosecution.

The lead detective, Serino, supported aspects of both the prosecution and defense's theories.

The Chief ME, Rao, was a very favorable witness for the prosecution. She testified that Zimmerman's injuries were "insignificant" and not consistent with George's head having been banged against the concrete repeatedly, nor with being punched in the face dozens of times.

We're not attempting court reporting here at Mock, mostly commenting on what we have a chance to see and discussing different aspects of the case.

But, HLN does a good job of blogging the live testimony. You miss the demeanor and expressions, of course, but can see who said what in order and it's a quick read. Best read from the bottom up.

I don't have anything to back this up but I doubt most black youths are taught to dial 911. I'm not saying that's right but I think many black youth view the police as their enemy.

When it comes to those crucial few seconds/minutes [the fight] that we all question. What I got out of that link HotD gave out is . It sounded like, T busted Z in the face. T got on top of Z and dashed his head into the ground once or twice [not a doz times]. Z tried to cover Z's mouth [possibly to quiet his screaming ? IDK ] . Z's gun gets drawn [ did T grab it? We cant tell because the rain would wash away the prints] BANG, one shot to the heart. T falls to the ground and Z says he spread T's arms out but pics show they were under T.

All in all it sounds a lot like the story Z has ben telling all along. With the exception of the severity of the beating and the position of T's body after the shot.

Georgie Porgy is going down for manslaughter & if by some chance this jury is as dumb as so many I've witnessed in recent years and they let him walk I will still have the extreme pleasure of knowing that he won't be free in the sense that I define free. He'll always be known as the pussy vigilante that shot and killed an unarmed kid who was doing nothing more than taking a shortcut in the rain. I'll still be able to smirk in satisfaction that this has affected his life in a major way and will continue to do so for years to come. HaHaFuckinHa.

I agree with you 100%.

Regardless of the circumstances or the eventual verdict the fact is Z shot and killed an unarmed teenager. I hope it haunts him and has a negative impact on him for the rest of his life.

I still wonder what the public reaction would have been if Z was a nigger and T had been a cracker? Would there be as many pro Z commentators? Would Sharpton and Jackson have been as quick to comment? Somehow doubt it.

Giving the defense the opportunity to present case law so as to not give them an Appeal issue. Same goes for the previous NE911 calls.

The defense is, successfully, breaking up the flow of the States case in chief. It is a brazen planned attack.

The Judge will allow the college stuff, just as she did the NE911 calls.

It is what I would call playing foul, but it is what it is. And the State will move on.

I know, O'Mara has also objected to evidence that he previously stipulated as well. But, Nelson still has to consider the arguments and rule. Which she did. And, you're right, the evidence is in.

O'Mara argued using the same rationale that he did for the previous 911 calls, that the prosecution is trying to subtly introduce this evidence as "seething bad acts".

Case law supports that the coursework and rejected police application can be used towards state of mind. The judge ordered that personal information be redacted from paperwork. Prosecution agreed.

The prosecution will be using this circumstantial evidence to argue that while Zimmerman outwardly projected an image of concerned citizen, his actions and mindset were those of a frustrated wanna-be cop turned vigilante. The fact that a construction worker (Stucco man) helped catch a burglar in the neighborhood made Zimmerman feel "upstaged" and he was even more desperate to catch bad guys. This is my opinion of the prosecution's strategy based on the arguments made and the prosecution's case so far.

Here are the slides Prosecutor Mantei presented at the hearing. "D" stands for the defendant, Zimmerman.

WTF. I heard the defense attorneys an hour ago having a big problem with George's credit history being discussed in court, I swear I did and I feel certain that the judge agreed to keep that particular page out of court but just now it was the defense who brought it up with a witness.
