I think Madonna may have referred to her son as nigga when posting a photo of him and when called out on it she said it was a term of endearment.

I haven't got the whole story, it would involve further investigation and I'm just too lazy.

She has had to apologise saying “I am sorry if I offended anyone wiith my use of the “n-word. It was not meant as a racial slur. I am not a racist. There's no way to defend the use of the word.”

Jesus Christ. What rank hypocrisy. Apparently the ONLY people that can safely and easily use the word are other niggas. Not even the mom of one is safe. She's a fucking idiot for apologizing; somebody needs to put a stop to this idiocy.

The word represents hatred and the history of oppression associated with it. If you want to embrace that as part of your ethos then knock yourself out.

The thing with Madonna, she is all about money and this slip up could bring a backlash for her financially as well as other areas that she is pretty pleased with herself about. Spare a thought for the adopted child whose white slutty bitch mother probably calls him 'nigga' on a daily basis at home.

There is a difference between nigga and nigger. I highly doubt Mafonna has to worry about economic repercussions. She made her fortune years ago. It's not like she puts out current music or tours that often anymore.

I don't feel there is a difference to me necessarily. But many black people feel that way. Some that I know anyway. They don't call each other the N word because they are not thugs. But they say that blacks that call other blacks nigga say it along the same lines as brother. They call other blacks NIGGER when referring to a thug. Much like when whites call other whites white trash or trailer trash. Now I'm not saying that this explanation applies to all blacks. I don't mean to generalize. This is just from my black friends.
