I see, MS.
YOU aren't so passionate as to do the ass-beating, but someone else using violence to oppose non-violent expression would bring a smile to your face.
Is that smile worth having the righteous assaulter being retaliated against and getting the shit kicked outta him? Or, him getting arrested and thrown in jail? Or, him being sued in civil court for injuries inflicted? Or, him going too far and seriously injuring/killing the flamer? All things that could well happen - some of which are reasons why assault is illegal.
Eh...fuck America's commitment to freedom of dissenting speech/expression and fuck the American justice system (both of which are principles embodied in what the American flag symbolizes, no matter how you frame it); MS's passive side-line smile is at stake.

Violence is never the answer for civilized people but I can understand how satisfying it could be to nail someone right between the peepers with a D battery.

HotD, I'm sure the person that decided to kick ass would also be prepared to face the consequences. Just like they were ready to face the consequences when they put on a uniform (most likely).

I see it this way:
The flag does indeed represent our Country, Freedom, Motherhood and Apple Pie and all that good stuff. It means a lot to me and a lot of other people. Other people not so much, fuckem.
Yea, they got the right to burn it, or try to. They have the right to the protection under the law if I beat the crap out of them for it, thats their rights, no problem.
But then again, I'll post bail and be out in a couple hours after shaking hands with the (Likely) U.S. Veteran cops who arrested me an maybe pay a fine.
The douchbag in question will still be in the emergency room sorting out his obama care.
Worth it.

Why do people burn the flag? Obviously it's a diss but what are they protesting? The war? I think I recall hearing that back in the day it was done to protest the draft but why in this day & age would anyone choose to burn the flag? Am I missing something?
Maybe they're protesting war, maybe their own loved one died or was injured and they're against it, maybe they're just completely fucking insane. No matter what the reason I don't think it justifies assault.
It puts a smile on my face to see someone get the shit beat out of them because they physically harmed a person or an animal, not because they burned a flag made in China and hurt someone's delicate little feelings.

Nevermind, MS.
You're presuming things that you couldn't possibly know rather than clarifying your position. And, the foundation of your presumption is proven wrong in courts of law every single day during the prosecution of assault cases.
You agree with whatever Six says wholeheartedly. Good enough.

Yes, seriously injuring people whom you don't even know their reason for burning the flag and for doing nothing more than hurting your feelings is completely rational.
And judging by your pictures, fat ass, I think the only person you could send to the ER is maybe a 16 year old girl.

You're such a better person than I am. When I hear about people abusing/killing animals I just want them to die. I say that sincerely.

And, you're defending violent criminals. Lovely.
Six, I understand your thought process - you think breaking the law and using violence to stop non-violence is justified and admirable if the object of your scorn is someone who doesn't share your ideals. I don't agree, but thanks for explaining it clearly.
I hope if you are ever in a situation to act on those stated beliefs, you make sure there are no witnesses or surveillance cams and you have a good idea of the health of the person whom you choose to assault. I'm not so sure the people who would be shaking your hand would have any power/motivation to circumvent the law and protect you from an assault or manslaughter conviction, nor a costly civil suit - whether you think losing your freedoms or possessions is worth beating some ass or not.

Your comprehension skills aren't your strong suit, are they? I wasn't defending the flag burners, I was defending their rights to not have the shit beat out of them the same way other protestors have that right. It doesn't matter how stupid and annoying I find it. I happen to think that anyone who stands on the side of the road burning flags or holding up signs of aborted babies are probably equally nuts, but I don't know those people and they don't have any significance in my life whatsoever.

Rough translation.
“I disagree with you completely six but of course I would never actually say that to you. I hope if you choose to illegally assault someone who legally burns the flag you are smart enough to get away with it. Because I make a habit of patronising people I fundamentally disagree with. I respect your view even though I think you are talking out of your arsehole but I don't have the bravery to say so. Please continue to like me!”
I think hotdog might be in advertising or marketing “mission in life - peoples perceptions of me and the control of such”
Let's face it everyone thinks hotdog is nice! Cinnamon and aussie are crazy with their professional experiences of physical and mental health, they know nothing! The soup chickens and losers gang together and know better than those crazy people with professional experience and training know of course.
Cinnamon he's crazy with his two degrees and life as a professional sportsman what a tool! I know more as a domestic soup chicken with an orca fat husband and 3 hyperactive retard kids.

It's a piece of cloth, don't be so hypersensitive Six. If someone wants to burn it, that's their business. You rationalising breaking the law and inflicting violence on a person who chooses to do this is ridiculous at best, and psychotic at worst. You can't dictate to other human beings that that piece of cloth that has stars and stripes on it and you deem it "special" and close to your heart. That's why they do it, to get a rise out of you and it works. Ignore them and they'll stop doing it.
I would be livid if I saw someone deface a Paul Stanley poster, but I wouldn't rough them up because of it, I would put a curse on them! Just kidding, calm down.

Don't you two have anything of significance that represents your country on the scale that the flag does to many Americans?

Beer and the great Australian meat pie.
We have war memorials here that have great moving significance to Australians. They get defaced sometimes, and it is shocking and people are outraged, but no one wants violence they want the people caught and thrown in jail. Having said that, Eddie Mabo a great indigenous leader had a statue of him decapitated and his wife was very upset and said on the news "racist bastards".
Look, I wouldn't like to see the Aussie flag burned, or the US flag for that matter, I hate it when I see it. But look who is doing it, these hysterical insane idiots. Who care's about them? Just ignore them, they are stupid.
