First year without both my mom and my brother. I'm not really in the holiday spirit. But I'll go to Detroit and have a good time.

I hate thanksgiving. I don't like being with these people 364 days of the year and neither does anyone else, why the fuck would we torture ourselves in the name of family? My family sucks. I'd rather work double time and a half.

But the GF likes it. So off we go. Meh.

Sorry about your Daughters husband. Sometimes it takes a few weeks to for it to really sink in, especially if they were married for a long time. 14 yrs is quite a while by todays standards, at least that's what I hear.

Crap............sorry, I didn't see the dog thing I don't know what a westie is and thought it was a nickname or something.

You thought her beautiful husband was named Westie . That's the funniest thing I've read here in along time. I know it was at the expense of a beloved family pet, but still.

I'm starting to get a little excited about Thanksgiving; just finished putting away the groceries.

It was over $150 and I'm only cooking for 4, including myself (and someone else is bringing the alcohol).

Ah well, it'll be enough food for a couple of days, so I guess it's really not that expensive. Kinda surprised me that a 12 pound turkey costs over $25 though.
