At least it doesn't appear I'll have to drive in blizzard conditions while I'm there; that's a heart attack waiting to happen for me too.
Have a great safe trip!

Two Valium later, this is much less stressful. I'm waiting till the last minute to go through security. Once you're through that, you're stuck.

You know its crashing when the stewardesses start putting on their jackets and start strapping themselves in, then you feel a few bumps like being on a roller coaster and the buckle your seatbelt light goes on. Oh yeah.........the pilot might come out and whisper something in the stewardesses ear and point outside or something.

Flying isn't so bad once you get past the few seconds of weird sensations during takeoff. It was neat to see how tiny everything on the ground looked.
As for driving in blizzard conditions, yeah my nerves were shot after 2 hours of driving 20 mph on ice and snow covered roads on Tuesday.

You people that live in these freezing conditions are fucking nuts! There's s-s-s-s-nowwww on the ground and it's c-c-c-c-old. Thank God I'm in my hotel room with the temp set to 70 now. Jeeeeezus. I thought I was going to die from hypothermia just dropping my daughter off and returning to the hotel.
I get her tomorrow from noon to 9:30pm Sunday night. We're going to parrrrttttt-ay...we're going to get dowwwwwwwwwwwwwnnn. Just kidding but I can't wait. We were both happy dancing about it when we talked about it tonight.

Hope you have a great time with your daughter User, and please forgive the locals. Folks act a little strange when they're unfreezing.
However, people should be especially friendly to you.

There was a point in the flight where the pilot said it was going to be bumpy for 10 minutes or so and he asked even the stewardesses to take their seats and put their seat belts on...come to think of it, don't they have like full on harnesses? What's up with that??? I've never given it much thought but I am definitely checking that out on the flight home. You'd THINK that passengers should at least have optional harnesses (if they don't want to wear one because of discomfort, fine, but I'd wear a fucking harness during take-off's and landings if there was one on my seat--you should have a belt/harness option for chrissake).
Anyway, I digress but I thought I was in for the plane ride that would convince me never to fly again but it wasn't even very bumpy.
Finally, I was A2 in boarding for Southwest. A1 was late so I was the first to board. Woo-hoo! I grabbed the aisle seat closest to the front and around five minutes later a hottie guy takes the window (fine) but the woman chatting him up? She takes the fucking center seat and she's one of those people who OUGHT to have been forced to buy two seats. She was fucking g'normous. Her hips/thighs took up a third of my seat, dammit. Then she put down the arm rest and proceeded to hog that during the entire trip too. I almost moved to the back of the bus but I PAID for the privilege of sitting next to the dumb cow in the front of the plane.
I'm saying "the seat is taken" to any fat people who try to pull that on me on the way home.

Kind of sucks... I'd like to take my daughter somewhere where she would be surrounded by a bunch of teens (the girl has never been to a high school dance or anything).
At home, I could take her to the mall. I'll have to see if I can find an indoor mall around here (I don't think there's one very near by but maybe if I drive a ways...). I thought about taking her to an under 21 club but I don't think all the make-up/costume work in the world would get me past the bouncer.
Shame.

Well, we could go to Brookfield Square Mall...there was a mass shooting there a couple of years ago OR it sounds like there are riots in Madison right now over the death of a black teen...that could be something to see. Decisions, decisions.

My wife wanted to go to Milwaukee to see her aunt over Spring Break.
I said, "we can't do anything outside until late May, so let's wait until then."
Go to the mall.
It'll be safe.

I'm so eager to get outside and do stuff. I gaze out the window every freakin' day and daydream. This record breaking winter bullshit is for the birds.

I haven't checked the temps since before I left but the weather feels more tolerable today. Either I'm getting used to it or they did in fact jump. I just saw a woman arriving for work at the hotel in SHORT SLEEVES though.
I am going to take her to the mall (we have reservations for dinner in Brookfield anyway). It's good practice for her. It will be depressing if she balks. She said she wants to get her hair cut while she's with me; maybe we'll go to the spa where the shootings took place.

This is bullshit!
I've never heard of residents in a community being able to dictate when their trash is picked up. Matter of fact, I've never heard of residents of any community getting to dictate when others do their jobs.
This wealthy community has a rule that their trash cannot be picked up before 7:00 AM. This guy got to work early and proceeded to do just that, work. He was arrested and he asked to do his time on the weekends so he could keep his job. The people in charge say fines don't work so this man is going to jail. Stupid rule made by stupid people.

Re the Flight Attendants having a harness belt, I am not sure what seats they took, but if flight is full, they usually have to sit on those pull down seats which offer no protection for body (jump seats)...so harness belt is designed to keep your body from hurtling right out of the plane or smashing into the passengers....

As the saying goes, the law is the law, you do the crime, you do the time. He knew of the law, and violated it anyway by "2" hours, not just a few minutes. It's tantamount to speeding 70 mph in a 30 mph zone, So.
(I don't want my trash picked up at 5AM either.)

It bothers me that citizens get to dictate that. It bothers me that this man is going to jail because of it. I don't find 5:00 AM to be an ungodly hour.

Today was the first day warm enough to let the kids go play in the snow, so we all went out in the back with the dog, who practically had a heart attack. "Holy shit you guys are comin OUT here? WOOHOO let's chase a stick or something, I got frozen toys right over here" Even she's been cooped up indoors all winter with these subzero days...

I hope Waste Management makes a thorough evaluation of each resident's failure to seperate their recyclables from their regular trash in this community and prosecutes each one to fullest extent of the law, demanding jail time for each occurrence since fines are apparently not enough. I want to see this trash collector appointed as the watchdog on behalf of Waste Management to write out the necessary citations.

That's because you're fucking weird. 5am IS an ungodly hour and hell if I want those noisy trucks picking up my garbage at that hour. In fact, I don't know what caused it to change but they used to come by my neighborhood around that time but around two years ago, they moved our pick up time to a more reasonable hour. I don't think the guy should go to jail though; it sounds like an employment/personnel matter. He should get fired maybe. I'm sorry but in that type of job you don't (or shouldn't) get to decide to just start work early. That's stupid.
