I'm always so surprised when I hear people have a water bill. It never fails to sorta blow my mind. I don't know why I have this crazy disconnect.

The power where I live is so low because the huge lake is a resource, but for some reason the people I live with seem to want to conserve water-like in annoying ways.
(She loads the dishwasher so tight-that some of the dishes don't get clean that way-so the others in the house pretty much wash them all the way before putting them in the dishwasher) Why are you surprised about water bills? My new place has everything covered. (Except internet) so I will have only 1 bill a month for rent/water/garbage/power

I was uncomfortable putting this in the death thread because...well...she's not dead. Former first lady Barbara Bush is very ill and she's declined further treatment in the hospital. She has returned home and will be treated with "comfort care". I'm assuming that's another word for hospice care.

MS, whenever I see James Garner I think of you. He was on TV the other day. It was a cowboy outlaw kinda movie. I didn't see the whole thing I was moving around and in & out but it was one creepy ass film. There was a deranged young man and his whore mother. He stabbed her to death at the end and he got himself killed. James' character hurt his leg and got gangrene. I thought James Garner only did funny stuff.

I don’t like to picture him as an evil, creepy guy.
Think I’ll pass on that one. He’s Rockford and Maverick as far as I’m concerned.

A few years ago I watched an old movie with James Garner and Sally Field on cable with my mom, "Murphy's Romance". I couldn't remember the title of the movie for this post and had to look it up. The review noted that Sally Field had to fight to get Garner in the role because the studio suits thought he had become a tv-only actor. They wanted Marlon Brando or Paul Newman. Sally Field got her way and I thought Garner was really in good in it. It's worth the watch if you haven't seen it. Field was also quoted in an interview saying her on-screen kiss with Garner was one of the best of her career.

That was the one where Sally's ex-husband was hanging around and at one point ended up dancing with Garner at the square dance. It was pretty good.

Oh happy day!! Next year I will be able to hang my Boy Scout 1952 calendar with the Norman Rockwell print on it near my desk. I've been waiting for this year to come!

You go, buddy. I'd like to feel so exuberant about something. Now I have to think about just what would make me feel that way.

So..a mom in South Carolina ordered a cake from Publix for her son's graduation, he graduated Summa Cum Laude. The store censored his cake. Jesus Christ.

Publix refunded the customer her 70.00 disproving the old adage that you can't eat your cake and have it too.
