We finally got some rain here a couple of nights this week and the temps are down to the high 60s in the day.
Tomorrow I’m flying to Virginia to visit two friends from high school for the weekend. Sounds like we’ll be hanging in DC on Saturday.
The forecast there is mid 70s.....perfect for walking around and bar hopping.

Yeah, over the last few years here, the standard reply to "when it rains it pours" has become "we should be so fucking lucky." ")

It was a whopping 70 degrees here today, while partly sunny for the optimists, and partly cloudy for the pessimists.

That depresses me. Just have to put the cover on now for me. Tighten up some fences and get ready for the howling snow squalls that are coming.

And a rainy bitch too. It seemed every other outdoor event I went to, it was moved to a rain location. The DMV Clam bake was flooded.

Yeah, a lot of that here too. Everything has remained green & lush all summer and the cushions on my outdoor furniture stayed mostly on their sides for the water to drain from.

What kind of outdoor furniture do you have? I just bought my third set, hopefully this one will last for more than two years.

Just basic loungers. I have 8 of them and they have lasted for many years.

Well that's beautiful.
I got polyresin furniture this time. If the salt air eats through this I may as well give it up.

Woooo. Look at all your plants! Is that a herb in the lower right? Is that a philodendron next to the tall table & chairs? It looks great! You DO have a green thumb, I believed you when you said you didn't.

Also, what is that plant over by the stacked wood? I like that too!

I didn't have a green thumb until you told me to water them with miracle grow everyday. Unfortunately I dont eat the herbs because that shit is poison, but at least they look good.

They're two plants in one pot. The red one is common, but I forgot what it's called and I wish I could remember what the green one is. I bought it from Lowes a couple of years ago and I thought the hurricane killed it so I just threw it in the pot hoping it would grow back. It has been sprouting those pink flowers ever since.

Now that I can see it closer it looks like a mandevilla. I love what you did with it and hope I can remember this next spring. Maybe you should put it in the gardening thread so this old lady has something to reference.
