I'm going to wish them away. Watch.
Speaker Paul Ryan announced Wednesday that he will not seek another term in Congress, ending what will be a three-year run as the Republican leader and creating a power vacuum in the GOP ranks heading into a punishing midterm election.
Story
No surprises here.

He reminded me of a guy that got to the top and just started using his perks to help himself. One time after another he would take as much as he could from his position and his stature that he never really rose up to the occasion as chief. I'm glad he is gone.

Good job!
Pruitt was probably the worst of the Trump swamp, so blatantly corrupt and under at least 13 separate ethics investigations. He's weird as hell as well.
I'm glad he won't be using his government position and our tax payer money to line his pockets and those of his family anymore. That's a very good thing.
It's too bad the Deputy EPA Director who's replacing him will be following the same Trump blueprint and gutting key environmental protections though.

He has a career of lobbying coal & natural gas companies and now he'll be in charge of regulating them! Ugh!

I think I should add Wilbur Ross & Ryan Zinke to the list.

He sure is.
...and just for the record, no one attacked his family. His bullshit was reported on, nothing more, nothing less. Also, he worked for the American people, not the prez. Like the rest of them, he is a worthless, incompetent cocksucka.
Full text of his resignation letter
Mr. President,
It has been an honor to serve you in the Cabinet as Administrator of the EPA. Truly, your confidence in me has blessed me personally and enabled me to advance your agenda beyond what anyone anticipated at the beginning of your Administration. Your courage, steadfastness and resolute commitment to get results for the American people, both with regard to improved environmental outcomes as well as historical regulatory reform, is in fact occurring at an unprecedented pace and I thank you for the opportunity to serve you and the American people in helping achieve those ends.
That is why it is hard for me to advise you I am stepping down as Administrator of the EPA effective as of July 6. It is extremely difficult for me to cease serving you in this role first because I count it a blessing to be serving you in any capacity, but also, because of the transformative work that is occurring. However, the unrelenting attacks on me personally, my family, are unprecedented and have taken a sizable toll on all of us.
My desire in service to you has always been to bless you as you make important decisions for the American people. I believe you are serving as President today because of God’s providence. I believe that same providence brought me into your service. I pray as I have served you that I have blessed you and enabled you to effectively lead the American people. Thank you again Mr. President for the honor of serving you and I wish you Godspeed in all that you put your hand to.
Your Faithful Friend,
Scott Pruitt

Beats me but your comment about money made me wonder why a man worth over $65 million wanted to steal through insider trading. Oh well, him and his kid will have a lot of time to ponder that themselves.

Somebody had knowledge of a stock dumping before it dumped and took advantage of it? Who is the nasty burger that did that?

As far as I can tell, stock dumping might be the least of the problems that will be plaguing republicans in DC. The swamp wasn't drained, it was stocked.

Well if the recent elections are any indication at least it will be a bit less aromatic.

Oh well, him and his kid will have a lot of time to ponder that themselves. Greed and hubris? I bet investigators are interested to learn if Collins has violated financial law in amassing some of that $65 million too.
Snip:
Prosecutors are alleging that Collins, who had served on the board of directors for Sydney-based Innate Immunotherapeutics, gave nonpublic information about drug trial results to his son to help him "make timely trades in Innate stock and tip others."
Collins's son, Cameron Collins, and Stephen Zarsky, the father of Cameron Collins's fiancée, were also charged in a federal indictment related to the case.
Collins's legal team is arguing that the report was “spurred by unfounded accusations that trace their origin to political opponents." http://thehill.com/homenews/media/400917...e-ive-ever
-----------------------------
Yeah, I don't think Collins invoking the presently popular "witch-hunt by political opponents!" deflection defense will help him any. If the Feds have electronic recordings of Collins passing the insider info to his family and he has been under investigation for a long time, as is being reported, he's going to have to do much better than that.
Anyway, Collins, his son, and his son's soon-to-be father-in-law are all expected to post $500,000 bond later today.

What is wrong with Nunes? (I get that he is a Republican but what is wrong with him aside from holding a different political ideology)

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross made some headlines yesterday, which didn't surprise me.
Some of his statements on tariffs and other economic policy matters struck me as way off.
Anyway, Forbes did an expose on all of the lawsuits against him for grifting, some alleged financial crimes he's committed, and the fact that he did not divest from his conflicts of interest when he took office (as he swore to do).

Devin Nunes is a trump stooge, he's one more republican who puts party over country. He has never taken the Russian interference seriously, not ever. For example, he said he saw secret intelligence reports backing trump's claims that President Obama wiretapped trump, the reality is he saw no such thing, that accusation came directly from trump and his administration and Nunes presented it as fact. He has repeatedly lied about the Steele dossier in saying that the dossier led to the investigation of trump, it didn't, the investigation started when one of trump's people bragged about having dirt on Secretary Clinton. He spent months lying about Susan Rice by saying she misused intelligence for political purposes, again it was proven to have no basis. There's a shit ton more but you get the idea. He is a despicable character and I look forward to him being run out of town like I do so many others.

One down. Zinke's ass is out the door.
Snip:
Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke will depart the administration amid growing controversy over allegations that he violated ethics rules, President Trump announced this morning.
Trump tweeted that Zinke "will be leaving the Administration at the end of the year after having served for a period of almost two years."
"Ryan has accomplished much during his tenure and I want to thank him for his service to our Nation," Trump wrote. He did not specify whether Zinke resigned or was fired, and said he will announce a new secretary next week.
Whoever Trump nominates will likely have to go through Senate confirmation.

Today is a very good day. I wonder if he knows that he can, and will be, investigated. I'd love to tar & feather him on his way out of town.
