Since now living here full time in Hurricaneland, AKA SNAKEland, (I HATE SNAKES) I decided
to buy a portable battery pack. It will run a fan, lights, electric razor, charge cells, Laptops,
I-pads, radio.
I'm now thinking of maybe getting a "solar powered " Generac Power unit.
That can power the whole household. I can put the unit up in my attic, since no gas fumes, and put the solar panels as windows in my current sunroom.
Anybody see I problem with that idea, that I don't?

No, I don't see a problem with that.
Can you elaborate a little about the portable battery pack? It sounds very efficient to be able to charge all those things.

Portable Power Station:
Has 9-12.6 VDC sockets
Has USB-A ports
Has USB-C ports
Has 110-120/Hz outlet
Has large bright Led light
Has Cigarette lighter adapter to recharge Power Station
It's a clever unit

They closed everything down knowing damn well it wasn't even coming here. It was just an excuse for everyone to get out of work and school. Then they say "boy that wind was something else last night" just to make themselves feel better about taking off from work.

I have a friend who lives in Black Mountain and works in Asheville. She isn't a facebook person. I left her a message on whatsap. She is pretty resourceful. I hope she is okay.
Also. I've been on some Asheville facebook pages and the fucking comments from some people. "OMG That is my favorite campsite, my heart is breaking"
Fucking bitches-people are losing thier homes and you are worried about the place you go to vacation each year. Fuck off. (sorry, I get the same annoyed with the fire response out here)

You don't have to apologize. You have the right priorities. It is just awful in NC right now. People are losing what has taken their lifetime to build.

North Carolina hasn't even declared a state of emergency.
The governor has requested Major Disaster Declaration-what does it take for him to get the National Guard Deployed? We had so much less this summer with the fires and they declared emergency so early on so we could get resources.
Ridiculous.

Wtf? My brother Larry lives in North Carolina. I hope he is ok. He lives up in the mountains in Durham I think. He should be ok?
