People have to be resilient and self reliant. We can't wait for the government to save us. I don't understand people expecting  the government agencies to be there immedietly.

My only thought is could they have had a better warning-weather reports went out-but did anyone expect it would be like this? Should more have been done upfront so people could have been better prepared or evacuated prior?

There is a fuck ton of soft people out there waiting for others to manage shit. I'm a control freak so I could never do that and I don't have much, if any, patience for those that do, particularly men.

I was probably that way before. And I thought I had to follow protocols and do things "right".

Harris said something about $750 in "immediate" assistance, which is pocket change and requires filling out an application. What exactly is FEMA doing for the people that desperately need immediate help? How many teams are on the ground coordinating the distribution of essential aid and the evacuation of people who are stranded and have no food and clean water?
