You're welcome. Sorry the resident idiots had to sully your welcome thread with their bullshit.

I have a question about names being redacted, what MI law says you can't talk about a case that is happening if you have nothing to do with it? I could see where people involved wouldn't/couldn't talk about it, but the rest I'm at a loss with.

Ya, Sin thinks I walk on water, I can never live upto any build up she makes. If ya think I have a pot belly now, you should have seen me before I went in.

It has something to do with tainting the jury pool. I don't know who tipped the forum about my case, it would end up on my ass. Even if none of you are from around here, you never know who is or isn't on the net.

- Duchess - 04-06-2009

Mayhem, while your here may I ask a couple questions ?...Are Sin's burps really so powerful they blow her glasses off her face ?...Also, does she snore?...And just one more lil' one...Have you ever seen her wear pink ?...Thanks in advance....I am dying to know about the "pink" question.

You really don't know? The incident was described in great detail at ForumGarden,as werethe trial details. It probably wouldn't be too surprising to find your info scattered all over the internet.

Now, who do you think might've done that? ::aww::

I think by forum he meant, the jury forum. Not forums on the net. I could be wrong though.

So, it basically goes back to you and where you choose to speak, correct? You are choosing to post in a place where the subject came up, there's no law stating that other people can't discuss it. If that were true, you wouldn't see a comment section in the freep, or wdiv or anywhere. Have you seen the dirt they dig up in those comment sections?

And can't you tell where people are posting from an IP address?

P.S. I served jury duty and was dismissed in January, I'm not getting called back for a long time haha. Defense attorneys don't like me Smiley_emoticons_razz

- DPD Chick - 04-06-2009

Oh yeah, also wanted to say. I don't care either way if it's deleted. I just wanna say that I'm pretty sure there is not MI law that states any of that, as mentioned in a post or two.

Sort of. Skilled persons such as myself can fake their IP. I could make it look like I was in Russia, Romania, South Africa... etc etc.. very very easily. This is why its so hard to track hackers who aren't amateurs.

- Liquid - 04-07-2009

there are tons and tons of sites you can use to surf the internet through and hide your ip address if you want to......

- SyberBitch - 04-07-2009

And utilities as well.

JAP Anonymizer works well for one.

- DPD Chick - 04-07-2009

I know this, I figured that'd get brought up. Aren't there also applications that can detect when one of those is being used?

I'm sayin' it's not illegal for you or I to discuss this, not in MI, most certainly. I think it's silly to site law in post to suggest that.

I've figured out how to do this, and I'm amateur lol.

Not that I know of. There are ways to trace back through IP re-routes in some cases, but certainly not ALL cases. It depends on the levels.

Of course not. I actually think that it's only 'illegal' for those directly involved in the case to discuss the details. If anything, the 'jury' members (if a jury is involved) are generally instructed not to 'pollute' themselves with outside sources of information. As I understand it, the general protocol is that they are not supposed to watch the news, read newspapers, surf the internet or engage in casual discussion of the cases they are involved with. I don't know the specific laws in MI, but I think MF is just being his usual overprotective, anal self. But that's ok, we love him anyway.:
