Not yet but I did see school supplies in Target the other day. I usually start the beginning of August and pick up a few things at a time. Last year I spent over $800 for supplies, shoes, and backpacks for the boys. Thing 1 needed a $125 calculator. Ridiculous.

I spent $700 on clothes last year. I get back packs from ll bean and they last forever. The last time I bought them was 3 years ago but they need new ones this year only because theyre too small.

Not sure about Lucy but we don't start until September 5th. I know GA starts much earlier and you get out much earlier than we do up north.

I bought his supplies last week. I will be buying his clothes this weekend. Smiley_emoticons_razz He starts back Aug. 15th.

RE: the 2012 trivial drivel thread - LuciferLynn - 07-20-2012

We start the Tuesday after labor day here. That's late for us, we usually start the week before but they're construction at the high school and it wont be done til labor day.

RE: the 2012 trivial drivel thread - ramseycat - 07-20-2012

Do you guys buy a lot of clothes at the beginning of the school year?

I usually buy the boys new shoes and some shirts and shorts. Maybe a few pairs of jeans if they want them. We shop a lot through out the year so they are always getting new clothes as they need them. They don't wear jeans or warmer clothes right away since they mostly wear shorts up until October and sometimes later. I would be freezing my ass of but apparently they are not as affected by the cold.

RE: the 2012 trivial drivel thread - LuciferLynn - 07-20-2012

I buy a lot at the start of the school year then fill in as needed throughout.

Yea! I love Fall and I love Football! I just wish we could keep winter confined to just the month of December. Then it go directly to spring.

Awesome. We had 8 thousand people in town today and everything was smooth as silk, much different than past crowds. Quite enjoyable, and some of the best lacrosse action I've seen in some time. I see why this sport is on fire. From what I heard, our event is as big as Princeton's was. Looks like we're going to be designated a MUST spot for future tourneys.

Really proud of that little village sometimes.

That bridge always gives me vertigo when I drive over it for some reason.

When does school get out there?

Elementary and middle school get out around 623 give or take a day. The last two days are usually half days. High school finishes the second week of June and then they have regular finals and Regent exams. They finish a full week before the younger kids. I remember my brother's kids getting out in early May down there. It just seems so early.
