I keep wondering what LC would have to say about the latest developments too, trixie.

Something tells me she would not be surprised that Maytee and John are back in trouble with the law and that Maytee's been put in some kind of hospital following her arrest. (I agree with OTD -- she's most likely in a psych ward.)

It would love to hear LC's take on it all, especially the apparently dirty piece-of-shit cop.

I think she would be so offended by that. She loathed a dirty cop and knew there was no place for them in their brotherhood. She resented that their actions had the power to tarnish the rest of them.

One thing that really struck me when I listened to the presser about Lt. Ramirez's arrest: Chief Kral said a few times that Ramirez was a bad apple. He didn't qualify it with "allegedly" or "presumption of innocence" or anything like that, which would normally be the case before a suspect has been convicted.

Ramirez's attorney says that he plans to cooperate fully. I think the evidence of his involvement in planning to shoot or scare Tiffany is probably damned near irrefutable. It's disappointing that a police officer would participate, in any way, in a criminal plot like that. However, it could result in a lot of information being brought to the surface. Ramirez will probably want a plea deal -- he knows how the system works and he ain't gonna wanna sit in gen pop. He may well have helped the criminal Clarkes due to loyalty, a shared belief that Tiffany lied on the stand, or because the Clarkes had something on him. Who knows? But, no matter why he did what he did, he got burned in collaborating with Maytee.

I think (and hope) Ramirez will spill his guts to try to minimize his penalty -- it's gonna get very interesting and I hope the proceedings will go down in open court.

I am the most curious about why he did it. Why he would risk his life's work to help people who both have records a mile long. Maytee has alluded to having friends on the "inside", meaning cops, for a very long time. I always thought she was fulla shit but damned if she wasn't being truthful. I think everything regarding this murder case is questionable now.

It may end up having no effect on the murder case at all. His communications with Maytee might only indicate that he and the Clarkes agreed that Tiffany set up the robbery at the Straubs and that Tiffany needed to pay or to be scared into talking.

But, those same communications could instead show that the Clarkes and Ramirez thought Tiffany knew too much about their involvement in criminal activity (related or unrelated to a robbery attempt at the Straubs) and they wanted to scare her into keeping her mouth shut, or to kill her.

Then again, Ramirez may just be a drugged-up nut job like Maytee and someone she could easily manipulate.

Lotta interesting possibilities.

Just like Maytee and John, he got slapped on the wrist with no real consequences. Makes one feel like they can get away with anything...and they tried to. Add being a cop with a sense of being above the law, and there you go.

Yeah, dirty cops do a lot of damage in the community and can put good honorable officers in a compromising position. I understand why LC loathed them.

Like Wildflower, I'm interested in what locals are thinking, hearing and saying about the charges against the Clarkes and Ramirez. I hope some of them come to Mock and post it up.

Well, Here in Toledo tonight, the weather forecast promises a windchill of -25 to -35 (!) and hopefully a 'high' of 2 degrees on Sunday. Most people are hunkering down.

The few people that I've talked with about Ramirez were all wondering what was he doing associating with the clarkes. The common asdsumption was that he was somehow related to maytee. "Blood is thicker than water"-type thing.

CatLady referenced Samuel Williams' appeal upthread.

His motion contained ten common appellate claims -- all of which were reviewed by the State Supreme Court, none of which were deemed to be of merit. The appeal was denied on all counts.

There's nothing new in the Appeal and Judgement document, but it's a good read for those interested in a recap of the trial witness testimony and the evidence used to convict Williams.

*speculation* the cop looks like an old man. From his eyes maytee may be seductive.. So I think the guy put all this at risk because he was thinking with his dick. As far as mayte what went down with the robbery gone bed perhaps it was the clarke s behind the whole thing Tiffany was responsible of finding someone to do it so she asks AC. AC then gets cameo and Sammy to do it. It goes horrifically wrong. Tiffany waits two hours to call maytee because she is expecting johnny to call her and say OMG we have been robbed! Tiffany never hears from him. She gets worried goes to their house. she doesn't know Sammy and cameo what they are capable of or perhaps who ac recruited.

So maytees real reason of being mad is the fact that Tiffany got the wrong people to do a simple burglary. The clarke s may have looked at it as a simple burglary since they have experience in the field.

I think you're referring to the Isaac King murder. It happened around Christmas time, he was returning from a holiday party and was shot in his driveway which is across the street from the Clarke's.

I found a couple of things interesting.
1. Page 22 states that Iraqi money was not made public ; however, it was made public on this forum before the trial. (I remember reading about this before the trial; it is too many pages though to go through to find this information). Page 24 states that Yingling's wife did some "checking on the internet of the case".
2. Page 17 states an AC motive: AC payed JC $750 for the car and would pay the remaining balance after the title was put in her name. The car broke down AC did not want to pay the remaining balance. JC retrieved the car from AC and did not give her back the $750.
3. cage 12 states MY and AP's alibi is that they were together at AP's house from 9 or 10 pm to 4 am. The murders happened between 10:41pm (when TW and JC last spoke to 3:50 am (when the third called was made to the police).

Yeah, d505, the money that Alex thought Johnny owed her for the dog and the car is probably what put her way up on Maytee's suspect list.

It was reportedly Big John who retrieved the broken down car from Alex, after she and Johnny went back and forth and she reportedly threatened both Lisa and Johnny over it.

Alex and Johnny argued over the phone and Alex said Johnny
“threatened me with his dad and threatened, he said he was going to call the police on me
if I didn’t give him his car back.” During the call, Alex threatened to beat up Lisa. Alex
testified Johnny’s dad retrieved the car and she never saw Johnny again. Zack said Alex
was mad because “[s]he took a $650 dollar loss or $700 loss.” Mr. Clarke was also
aware Alex made threats to Johnny over the car.

Yes, Johnny burned AC by only paying half for the dog and not giving back $750 for the car. I would be pissed also. It makes me wonder who else JC burned. DNA samples were collected from 53 people (C out of Appeals, p. 7). It does not state whether AC was swabbed.
Also, I am wondering the rules of Ohio in order for individuals to be put in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS). In New Mexico if you are simply arrested at the time of booking you are swabbed and put in the database. What are the rules in OHIO?
The reason I ask is because of the three unknown females. Unknown female one: Her DNA was found on the duct tape, JC 's sweatshirt pocket and pants. Unknown female two and three: DNA was found on JC 's sweat pants. I am sure those three suspects will eventually be caught depending on your laws for collecting DNA samples. Because NM collects DNA samples from anyone who has been arrested numerous cases have been solved. My guess if your laws were like New Mexicos the three unknown females would already have been identified.
