I seen the mugshot for most wanted. No, she is not on the run or missing. She is at the hospital with her outrageous claims of heart and back issues. Grand jury is a secret proceeding. You will generally hear only the law enforcement side of a case. It is not your duty to decide whether or not a person is guilty of a crime. Your duty, together with the other grand jurors, is to determine whether or not there is sufficient evidence to require that an accused person stand trial.

A former Toledo police lieutenant was indicted today on charges including felonious assault for his alleged role in a plot to shoot a witness, and also submitted his retirement request.

Frank Ramirez, 58, was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury for felonious assault with a firearm specification, tampering with evidence, and obstructing justice.

Maytee Vazquez-Clarke, 44, who previously was indicted for obstructing justice in the same case, also was indicted today for felonious assault with a firearms specification.

No court dates have been set, although Ms. Vazquez-Clarke and her husband, John Clarke, 45, are scheduled to have a pretrial hearing Wednesday before Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda.

If convicted, Mr. Ramirez faces up to eight years in prison for felonious assault, three years for the firearms specification, and up to three years on both the obstructing and tampering charges.

Police allege that Mr. Ramirez “did direct another to remove and delete evidence related to the crime and his involvement in the same.”

Tiffany Williams testified at the murder trials of Samuel Williams, who is of no relation to Ms. Williams, and Cameo Pettaway. The two defendants were accused in the slayings of Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub in Ms. Straub’s parents’ home in January, 2011.

Johnny Clarke’s parents, John Clarke, 45, and Ms. Vazquez-Clarke, 44, were arrested after Ms. Williams was shot at a day after Christmas. Police charged the elder Clarke with felonious assault for allegedly shooting twice at Ms. Williams, 28, in an alley.

Mr. Ramirez today submitted his retirement from the police department, effective Feb. 11, said Lt. Jeffrey Gorney.

Lieutenant Gorney did not release details of the retirement.

I was hoping there would be a hearing in open court so we might learn more about the evidence. But, I'm glad Ramirez and Maytee were indicted by a grand jury. They'll have their days in court and we'll be watching and listening.

So, Ramirez resigned, huh? Well, good to know he won't ever be policing the streets of Toledo again, but he should have been canned years ago in my opinion.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see if Maytee is healthy enough to attend next Wednesday's hearing with John. I agree with Duchess' anonymous source; she's majorly malingering.

Would the reading of the affidavit disclosed evidence and that's why he choose not to have it read? If this is a dumb question please chalk it up to me not knowing better.
