A Brooklyn woman was arrested after coldly abandoning her two young daughters on the street yesterday afternoon, police said.

Dalisha Adams, 26, was busted at 11:24 p.m. Sunday after cops matched the girls' identities with photo records from ACS, police said.

The girls were bundled up for the weather and were clutching several clean diapers.

Dominae, 5 and Dioni, 3, were deserted at 2:50 p.m. in front of 5994 Shore Parkway in Sheepshead Bay, police said.

The shaken girls were not injured and are currently in the custody of ACS after being taken to Brookdale University Hospital for evaluation.

Cops said the little girls knew their mother's first name, but could not tell cops where they lived.

Adams was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor after surrendering to cops.

Neighbors said Adams, who lives in the Breukelen Houses in Canarsie, constantly berated the girls with foul-mouthed rants, often as early as 5 a.m.

"She shouts at them 'Shut the fuck up! Get the fuck out of here.' I heard her cuss out her little baby," said one neighbor. "I hope she doesn't get those kids back. It's not right."

Another neighbor said, "She talks really dirty to her children and treats them very shabbily. She says things like ''l'll kick your fucking ass.'"

On Sunday, shortly before the girls were found on the street, neighbors heard the final blowup - with the mother saying, "Stop crying. Shut the fuck up. I'm going to get you out of here."

Adams has a third daughter, 8, but she was spared on Sunday because she was with an aunt, cops said. They said Adams turned herself in Sunday night.

K-9 Hero! 75

KRDO
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. -- An El Paso County mom is facing an Attempted 1st Degree Murder charge after authorities said she abandoned her 3-year-old boy near Interstate 25 Saturday morning.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office said it was one of their own who found the child. A 2-year-old K-9 named Axel discovered the cold and scared little boy in a drainage ditch covered by about five feet of tumbleweeds. Spokesperson Lt. Lari Sevene said the child was near railroad tracks about 200 yards from I-25 in the Rancho Colorado area.

"Based on where he was found, the fact there was brush around him and over top of him, the likelihood of a human finding him with relative ease, especially in that short of time, is next to nothing," said Sevene.

The child's mother, 28-year-old Nyesha Hall-Gonzalez, had been found wandering along the railroad tracks about three hours earlier. Deputies said she looked like she had been in a fight and seemed disoriented. State patrol troopers told investigators they had seen Hall-Gonzalez walking near the interstate with a toddler earlier that morning.

"As soon as we started questioning her about the child, she immediately became uncooperative," said Sevene.

After being alone in the cold for several hours, the little boy met his four-legged rescuer, about an hour after the dog started searching. Sevene said, thanks to Axel, the injuries the child suffered were minor.

"He did have some minor abrasions, some cuts and bruises and those types of things, but, fortunately, he was OK," said Sevene.

She said the sheriff's office considers Axel possibly the best K-9 it's ever had. The dog, a red sable German Shepard from Slovakia, has gotten Top Dog recognition by the U.S. K-9 Association. His handler, Deputy Mark Miller, said Axel got perfect scores when tested for tracking abilities, narcotics detection and other skills.

Sevene said Miller also played a big role in finding the child as he picked up immediately on signals from Axel.

Hall-Gonzalez remained in jail Sunday night on charges of Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Child Abuse. Her bond was set at $50,000.

Sevene said the boy was in the custody of his father, Hall-Gonzalez's husband.

Wisconsin

A severely malnourished 15-year-old girl was allegedly forced her to live in the basement of a home by her parents for years while they beat her, starved her and even forced her to eat her own feces.

The Wisconsin teenager had been forced her to live in the house’s basement by her father, 40, and stepmother, 42, for six years and an alarm would sound if she went upstairs, police said.

She was found barefoot in pyjamas near her home last week and allegedly ate what she could find on the floor and in the rubbish, but her parents forced her to eat her feces and drink her own urine

The girl weighed just 70lbs when she was brought into a hospital and a doctor there told police she was under a ‘significant risk of death’ and chronic starvation caused her puberty to be arrested.

Someone notified police after seeing the girl barefoot in her pyjamas last Monday.

The girl claimed she fled her home because she was afraid her stepmother was going to throw her down the stairs. Her stepmother and father were named by the Wisconsin State Journal as Melinda Drabek-Chritton and Chad Chritton.

The girl told police she was let out of the basement to ‘clean some papers’ for her stepmother, who became angry because she wasn't doing it fast enough and threatened to throw her down the stairs.

The couple were arrested on Friday on suspicion of child abuse and neglect, and a judge set their bail on Tuesday at $20,000 each, reported the Wisconsin State Journal.

RE: Rampant Abuse and Murders of Children - Mommabear - 02-15-2012

A 4-month-old girl who died Tuesday after being taken to a hospital with a fractured skull and broken ribs died from blunt force trauma to her head, an autopsy revealed.

The death of baby Piper, who was taken Sunday to a hospital from a home in the 10000 block of Stallings Creek Drive now is being investigated as a homicide and will be reviewed by the commonwealth’s attorney, said Kristin Wilda, spokeswoman for the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office.

The baby’s parents, Mary Leanne Webb and Robert Molinski, were charged Tuesday with felony child neglect after her death at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, where she had been on life support. Her twin sister, Ella, was in critical, but stable, condition.

Both girls had injuries that included skull fractures and broken ribs, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Piper had burns on the soles of her feet.

Webb, 23, and Molinski, 22, appeared in General District Court Wednesday. Webb is scheduled to return Tuesday to tell a judge whether she has hired an attorney, according the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Clerk’s Office. Molinski has a preliminary hearing date set for April 9.

They are being held in Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

A 30-year law enforcement veteran described the case of 4-month-old twins as "conscience-shocking."

"It is clear to me that this is just outright child abuse," said sheriff's Capt. Rick Gaddis, who retired from the Newport News Police Department after 29 years before taking a job at the Isle of Wight Sheriff's Office.

"I've seen some terrible child abuse," he said. "I've never seen an infant hurt this bad. It's conscience-shocking."

On Sunday, emergency crews went to the Stallings Creek Drive home at 6:40 p.m. after Robert Molinski called 911 because Piper wasn't breathing, Gaddis said.

The chief of the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad EMS responded from his home and performed CPR on the infant with the help of sheriff's deputies, he said.

The house was in disarray, with clothes strewn about and dog droppings on the floor throughout, Gaddis said.

"The bedding looks like it hasn't been washed in a long time; it's heavily stained," he said. "I would call it deplorable living conditions for anyone."

Piper was then flown to CHKD, where her parents were later arrested.

She had been born there in October, but this wasn't her first time to be back to the hospital.

A mother who says she hated her baby son from the day he was born left him to drown in the bath, investigators say.

Neha Patel of Lakeland, Florida, allegedly slapped one-year-old Ishan, then purposefully left him alone in a hall-full bathtub.

Returning 10 minutes later to find the infant unconscious, she refused to do CPR even though she knew what to do, the sheriffs office said.

Patel, 32, was arrested yesterday at the parking lot at Tampa International Airport.

She said she intended to kill herself by jumping off the garage roof, but stopped during two approaches as there were too many people were around.

The young mother has now been charged with first-degree murder.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the cause of death was blunt force trauma at the hands of his mother, the New York Daily News reported.

Patel may have been suffering from post-natal depression, investigators say. WHO CARES??? DIE

She told deputies she 'hated' her son since the day he was born and felt he was responsible for her 'state of mind.'

Post-natal depression, caused by a chemical, hormonal imbalance, affects 10 to 15 percent of women.

The pharmacist was home alone with her son on Thursday when the alleged murder took place.

When he started to crawl toward her she smacked him because she hated to be near him and wanted to discourage him from coming close to her, the sheriff's office said.

After getting him up from a nap she put him in the bath, which at the time was half full of water, and left him on his own , investigators said.

When she returned and found the infant unconscious she allegedly did not attempt CPR or call 911 but instead dressed the child and took a bizarre drive around the area. With the child's body in the car she went to nearby supermarket, then home, then to Ocala, then to Tampa International Airport, the sheriff's office said.

Patel knew her son was dead because he had turned 'blue' and was 'cold to the touch.'

Patels's husband, Rasesh Patel, had last seen his son alive at 7.20 am Thursday when he left to take the couple's four-year-old daughter to preschool and go to work.

He attempted to phone home between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm before returning home at 1.30 pm to find them gone, deputies said.

That evening he called police to report his wife and son missing, saying Neha was depressed and he was worried as she hadn't been taking her medication, Eleazer said.

Around 2am Friday morning she returned home and put the baby boy in his crib, telling her husband she drowned him, investigators say.

But when she heard him on the telephone to relatives she took off again for the airport telling her husband she would rather die than go to prison.

'I will be dead by tomorrow,' she told her husband, the Miami Herald reported.

The mother-of two had been acting strangely all week.

She resigned from her job as a CVS pharmacist on February 12, and talked about suicide. She said she would like to die in the Smoky Mountains, her husband told authorities.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspects involved in the shooting death of a Detroit baby.

Police said 9-month-old Delric Miller IV was the victim of a drive-by shooting early Monday on Detroit's west side, Fox affiliate WJBK-TV reported.

Authorities are hunting for two men -- described as "cold-blooded killers" -- whom they say opened fire on the boy's home with an assault rifle, according to the station.

Neighbors say two men stood in the middle of the street with at least one assault rifle and opened fire, riddling the front of the house with 37 bullets. They then continued to fire away at the side of the house.

The front of the home was reportedly riddled with 37 bullets. At least 10 people were inside at the time of the shooting, police said.

"It's actually amazing -- an act of God -- that more people in that house were not killed," Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee told reporters during a press conference Monday. "There's no question about it. This is gang-related."

A $5,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Eleven children were taken into protective custody by Texas authorities after they were found living in a home with a sex offender and nine other adults.

Three of the children were tied up when they were into custody- one was a five-year-old blind girl, and the other two were 2-year-old boys.

The children- nine of whom were between the ages of five months and 5 years old and the other two of whom were ages 8 and 11- were being neglected and abused in a house with 10 adults including their grandparents who owned the home.

None of the names of the adults staying in the home- some of whom were the parents of the neglected children- have been released (i'll find them), and the childrens' full names will not be because of their ages.

All of the children were cousins and born to seven different sets of parents.

Protective services found that all 11 children lived in the same 10 foot by 10 foot bedroom which had no electricity and boarded up windows.

When questioned, the adults living in the house saw no problem with the fact that they regularly tied the children up for two to three hours during the day and longer at night.

DAYTON, Texas -- The mother of a 2-year-old boy allegedly tied to his bed in Dayton wants criminal charges pressed against the woman she says is responsible.

"The adults that were here at the time, charges should be pressed on them," Jazimen Weaver, of Hull-Daisetta, told KHOU 11 News Tuesday morning.

Weaver’s 2-year-old and 5-month-old sons, along with nine other children, were removed from the home in the 600 block of Ford Ave. in Liberty County in late January.

According to court documents, eight of the children were found living in a dark 10x10 room. Three of the children were restrained to their beds. The kids ranged in age from 5 months to 11 years old.

"They said my son was tied up to the point of not being able to move at all," said Weaver. "It makes me angry."

Weaver lost custody of her children. She does not live with them. Her mother, Tanda Smith, now cares for them. Smith owns the home where the children were living and has custody of some of them.

edit to add, sow gave birth after arrest.

Hardin delivered a baby on Wednesday afternoon and is under armed guard at a local hospital, said Jimmie Harp, Etowah County District Attorney.

Harp said his office is in contact with the Department of Human Services, and together they are working on a "safety plan" for the newborn and a 3-year-old who lived in the house.

The Associated Press

ATTALLA, Ala. — At the end of a dirt road leading to a doublewide trailer in rural Alabama, authorities say 9-year-old Savannah Hardin was being forced to run for three hours as punishment for having lied to her grandmother about eating candy bars. The severely dehydrated girl had a seizure and died days later, her death ruled a homicide.

The grandmother and stepmother of a 9-year-old Alabama girl who died Monday after allegedly being ordered to run around her family's house -- for hours -- as punishment for lying about taking a candy bar have been charged with murder, police said Wednesday.

"Joyce Hardin Garrard, 46, and Jessica Mae Hardin, 27, were both arrested and charged with murder in connection to the death of Savannah Hardin," Capt. Jeremy Walker said in a news release issued by the Etowah County Sheriff's Office. Garrard is the child's grandmother and Jessica Hardin is her stepmother.

At about 6:45 p.m., the stepmother called 911 and said that Savannah, who had run for about three hours, had suffered a seizure and was unresponsive, the release said.

"A very unnecessary act," said Etowah County District Attorney Jimmie Harp in a telephone interview about the incident, which occurred Friday. "(The) taking of a candy bar turned into (an) all-day marathon ... until the point of time she just collapsed."

Savannah Hardin died Monday at Children's Hospital in Birmingham; a state pathologist in Huntsville ruled her death a homicide. "Preliminary reports show Savannah was extremely dehydrated and had a very low sodium level," the release says.

"It's sad when a family is grieving over the death of a daughter and granddaughter and so soon to find out that the death could have been prevented," said Sheriff Todd Entrekin, whose office became involved after witnesses called investigators to express concerns. "We have always said that we will protect the rights of those who cannot defend themselves," he continued.

Savannah was a third-grade student at Carlisle Elementary School.

Garrard and Hardin were being held in the Etowah County Detention Center in lieu of a $500,000 cash bond.

Sick SOB!!

KTVL - MEDFORD, Ore. -- An 18-month-old boy is in critical condition at a Portland hospital after he was beaten and sexually assaulted.

Around 4:22 p.m. Thursday, medical personnel responded to a call of a child in distress, according to a press release from the Medford Police.

The child was taken to an area hospital, where medical professionals determined the child had been severely beaten. They found evidence of a sexual assault, the release said. The child was taken to Doernbecher Children's Hospital for treatment.

Medford Police were notified and began investigating.

Police say the child was left in the care of Matthew Hyrup, 27, while the child's mother was out. Hyrup has been identified as the child's stepfather.

The mother discovered the injuries when she returned home, the press release said.

Hyrup has been arrested on the suspicion of first-degree assault, unlawful sexual penetration in the first degree. He is being held at the Jackson County jail.

kobi5.com
Neighbors, whom we spoke with, are calling the allegations against 27 year old Matthew Hyrup troubling.

"It's scary and I live so close. I'd seen them a couple of times. I didn't even know they had kids," said a neighbor who didn't want to be identified.

Police say Hyrup beat his stepson repeatedly and even penetrated the 18 month old boy.

He faced a judge earlier this afternoon.

"I see 3 or 4 cops and I was like looking and a lady was carrying a baby and it didn't look like it was moving," described the neighbor.

The youngster was flown to Doernbecher's Children's Hospital in Portland. At last check, he was listed in critical but stable condition.

"The victim had injuries internally and externally," said Lieutenant Mike Budreau with the Medford Police Department.

Hyrup married the boys' mother two weeks ago. The marriage certificate list Matthew Hyrup as the 'groom' and 21-year-old Stephaine Raeanne Hyrup as the 'bride.'

This isn't Matthew's first run in with the law. We found charges dating back to 2006. He was convicted of driving under the influence, driving while suspended, unlawful use of a firearm, and possession of meth.

"He's currently on probation for dangerous drugs; methamphetamine specifically. And that will lead to questions of hey, was drugs involved? That does not appear to be the case," said Budreau.

As for the boys' mother, police say she was not home at the time of the assault. Authorities tell us she is in Portland monitoring her son's progress.

Little Cayden [Image: 401299_197983380301376_197983273634720_2...8980_n.jpg]

kobi5 - Father of boy speaks out:

Kevin Brewer has been unable to eat, drink, or sleep.

He said he is shaking from all the stress

"I haven't been able to stop," said Brewer as he showed NBC 5 News pictures of his son on his cell phone.

Brewer said he's still in shock after learning the condition of his little boy - 18-month-old Cayden.

The toddler was airlifted to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland last week.

"I hope justice is served," Brewer said.

27-year-old Matthew Hyrup was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual penetration and assault.

According to police, Hyrup repeatedly beat his you stepson Cayden, and even penetrated him with either his body part or a foreign object.

RE: Rampant Abuse and Murders of Children - Jezreel - 02-28-2012

justice for another innocent life taken too soon....

An assistant prosecutor contended Monday that a frustrated, drug-influenced Renee King repeatedly slammed her 2-year-old stepdaughter’s head against a floor in retaliation to the girl twice defecating in her underwear and having temper tantrums.

Therese Tobin, Macomb County chief trial attorney, asked jurors to convict Renee King of felony murder for the November 2010 death of Lily Wolfenbarger-Furneaux in her New Haven mobile home.

King had been complaining to others about Lily, Tobin said during her closing argument in front of Judge Diane Druzinski in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens.

“Two-year-olds aren’t easy,” Tobin said. “Two-year-olds have accidents. Two-year-olds have temper tantrums. Two-year-olds act up. The price that Lily paid that day -- she paid with her life.

“Lily was having temper tantrums, and Lilly pooped in her pants. That’s what set off this time bomb off.”

King, 30, faces a potential penalty of life in prison without parole. She is also charged with first-degree child abuse and criminal sexual conduct, as Tobin said that Lily suffered a “penetrating” injury to her genitals caused by an unknown object; a tiny artificial fiber was found inside her vagina.

A 12-person jury began deliberating shortly after noon Monday. The trial began Feb. 14.

King, who has three other small children, was alone with Lily on Nov. 20, 2010, for the three hours before she dialed 911.

King in several statements to police claimed Lily died from two accidental falls that were caused by King’s bad back faltering. She denied inflicting or noticing the vaginal injury.

But Tobin argued: “This was no accident. There is no plausible way given these head injuries that this was an accident.

Lily suffered from at least 20 blows to her head area, five of which were traumatic and could have caused her death, Tobin said. Two major areas on the back and left side of her head appeared to be clusters of impacts, county Medical Examiner Dr. Daniel Spitz testified.

Tobin contended King was affected by prescription drugs for anxiety, depression and back pain. King was diagnosed with a bulging disc in her back.

Tobin argued that King gave inconsistent statements to police, pointing out more than one dozen conflicting comments about details.

She said King cleaned up the scene and Lily before dialing 911.

RE: Rampant Abuse and Murders of Children - Jezreel - 03-05-2012

We have a big trial that started here today, not sure if anyone is familiar with the story of Victoria (Tori) Stafford, the 8 yr old girl abducted, assaulted, killed and dumped! This sort of thing doesn't happen as often here...

Victoria Elizabeth "Tori" Stafford was an eight year old Canadian girl abducted from Woodstock, Ontario on April 8, 2009, and murdered. She was last seen on security camera footage walking with Terri-Lynne McClintic.
Her disappearance and the subsequent investigation and search were the subject of massive media coverage across Canada. The search for her body ended on July 19, 2009, when a child's remains were found in a wooded area in rural Ontario and were immediately believed to be those of Tori Stafford. This was confirmed in a news conference held July 21, 2009. The police response to the situation as it developed and their failure to announce an Amber Alert has been criticized by the public, and has recently been the focus of a review of the Amber Alert system in Canada. The circumstances of her death were a mystery until a publication ban was lifted in December 2010.
She was seen for the last time at about 3:32 pm Wednesday April 8, 2009 on Fyfe Avenue, walking past a high school up the street from Oliver Stephens Public School. A security video taken from the high school shows her walking with a person of interest. The case was later featured on America's Most Wanted.
On May 20, 2009, police charged Michael Thomas Rafferty, 28, with first degree murder and Terri-Lynne McClintic, 18, with being an accessory to murder (in addition to lesser charges) in the abduction and suspected murder of Tori. OPP indicated that Tori's mother, Tara McDonald, was familiar with McClintic. McClintic assisted the police search for the remains of Tori Stafford after her arrest.
Terri-Lynne McClintic pleaded guilty to first degree murder. She was sentenced to life in prison.

Now Michael Rafferty is on trial, I don't see anyway the jury will not find him guilty, so here's hoping justice will be done. He has pleaded not guilty
murder, sexual assault causing bodily harm and kidnapping!

RE: Rampant Abuse and Murders of Children - Jezreel - 03-05-2012

RE: the above post, I was reading on the local paper that media ha started lining up outside the courthouse at 5.30am. The judge cleared the courtroom and overflow room this afternoon with no explanation, I wonder if they will continue to all public to attend? Tori's father and grandmother gave a statement to the media, I feel for them it will be so hard to listen to all the details. Also the trial is expected to last months, maybe even until June! That's a long time for a trial.....

JESUS!!

KHON

Honolulu police are asking for help in solving a mystery involving a child.

Police say a woman found fingers belonging to a little girl inside a dumpster.

The woman is quite shaken up by what she found.

She actually made the discovery a month ago, and police have been investigating the case ever since.

Gina Rose Vendegna lives near Kukui Gardens in Kalihi.

On February 2nd, she was passing by, and decided to check these dumpsters near the entrance to the housing complex.

"I look for bottles and cans to recycle and I give them away to the old people," said Gina Rose Vendegna.

She says she found a few recyclables, but also...

"I saw a plastic ziploc bag, which I thought were ginger root starting to dry out. I'm a gardener, and I recycle, and I thought I'd be able restore them. So I threw them in my purse," said Gina Rose Vendegna.

Gina went home.

Then later that day, she took the ziploc out of her purse.

"I was drinking a soda and I knew for a fact those were fingers when I seen the fingernails. And people I tried showing them to tried telling me that it wasn't, that it might be monkey fingers. And I thought just by chance I'm going to call the Police Department, turn 'em in and let them decide," Gina Rose Vendegna.

Turns out, they were human fingers, that Gina found in the dumpster.

"They were preserved in a ziploc bag, they had been preserved. They did not smell bad they were preserved," Gina Rose Vendegna.

Police sources say there were six fingers, and based on lab results, police believe the fingers belonged to a little girl, about 2-1/2 to 4 years old.

"I was pretty strong as far as turning them into the Police Department until about the day afterwards. Then I broke down and thinking about the child. I'm a mother of five myself," said Gina Rose Vendegna.

Police have checked missing persons cases, questioned hospitals and Kukui Gardens residents, and have not come up with any leads on either who the little girl is, or who did that to her.

"I hope we get this person off the street. We don't need him here or anywhere," said Gina Rose Vendegna.

Police say Gina is not considered a suspect in this case.

Prosecutors in Gadsden, Ala., say they will seek the death penalty against a woman whose granddaughter died after being forced to run three hours as a punishment.

The Gadsden Times reports that Etowah County District Attorney Jimmie Harp made the announcement Monday regarding 46-year-old Joyce Garrard, who was indicted last week for capital murder in the death of nine-year-old Savannah Hardin.

An Alabama grand jury also last week indicted the girl's stepmother, 27-year-old Jessica Hardin, for felony murder.

Prosecutors charged Garrard with the capital offence because the girl's death last month happened during another felony, child abuse. Authorities said Jessica Hardin didn't intervene when Garrard punished the girl for lying about eating chocolate.

NEWS 13
TITUSVILLE --
A Brevard County father and his girlfriend face serious child abuse charges after police said they found the man's son locked in a bathroom, lying on the floor and extremely malnourished.

Michael Marshall, 38, and his live-in girlfriend, Sharon Glass, 48, were arrested late Thursday afternoon at Marshall's home on Barna Avenue, just a few blocks from Andrew Jackson Middle School.

Titusville police said they received a report about the child's living conditions. They said the boy had been kept in a cage within a closet, strapped to a bed or locked in the bathroom for days or weeks at a time over the last year.

Police said the boy is approximately 13 years old, and weighed only 40 pounds when they found him.

Both Marshall and Glass were home when detectives arrived, and said they were punishing the child for stealing food after it was being withheld from him.

Police compared the condition of the child to that of a concentration camp survivor. He was treated for dehydration and malnutrition and released from the hospital.

The Florida Department of Children and Families has taken the boy into custody, along with two other children living at the home. It was not immediately known if the other children had been subjected to the same type of punishment.

Marshall and Glass face three counts of aggravated child abuse for unlawful caging of a child, plus a charge of aggravated child neglect.
