I don't think she is doing anyone a disservice. We all have strong points and she is showing hers. She is not degrading herself. Other women don't need to compare themselves to her, she is who she is, and we are who we are. I am happy for her, if she is happy.

She's full of shit. There is no way she gave birth 4 days prior to taking that pic. A women's body takes more time to return to normal. Even if she is super fit. Ab muscles separate as abdomen expands. The ligaments in both hips loosen to allow expansion of the pelvis for pregnancy and birth. It takes time for the hormones that cause this to leave the body after birth and the ligaments and muscles to return to normal.

Wow! I'm surprised. You're usually the one out there telling everyone how they should be have because they are role models?
I think she meant it to be inflammatory. Posting a comment like "What's your excuse" is a bit of a giveaway... I'm a bit 50⁄50 on it. Sure, more power to her, and you're right; others don't need to compare.
The other side is that is far from realistic for the vast majority of new mothers and not everyone shares a high level of emotional security four days after giving birth. Inevitably there will be emotionally fragile and hormonally imbalanced women who will compare.
I can't believe the resident mental health expert didn't make some tie between this and post natal depression. As in the promotion of this image and a comment that almost says "why don't you look like this, what the fuck is wrong with you?" is probably not a good thing..

I don't think that is what she is saying, that is an interpretation not a fact. She may be proud of what she has achieved and more power to her for achieving that. If others are threatened by that, then that is their stuff not hers. Why should that affect her and clearly it doesn't? I am indeed coming from a mental health perspective. She clearly has healthy self esteem and that is a good thing.

I think this story is true. She's quite well known in Norway and is seen out & about. I really don't think she could get away with this being a big fat lie. Her name is Caroline Berg Erikson, if you google her you'll see she's a fitness blogger.

Is that what she actually said? Clearly that is an arrogant, provocative statement that may be she is wanting to attract fame and attention to herself. Well it worked, if that is true. I hope for her sake it is not, it would detract from the positives in this story.

Well my apology. I must admit I was only half listening to the news segment when I heard the bit about the comment and that picture was on the screen.
Still, I can see the point of the medical professionals that are expressing an opinion on this; It will inevitably influence what a lot of new mothers think they should look like. It is promoting a non-realistic outcome.
