My older kids are riding it out because they claim they cantvleave the dogs there alone. Bullshit they are going to have a hurricane party. Im not stupid. They couldnt wait for us to get out of there. Im not comfortable with this at all but I cant force adults to come with us. Im only doing this for the liitle one.

No one in my neoghborhood left. Were the only assholes who left and thats just because I have a 5 yearold who cant decide for herself. My house is all concrete , it will be fine.

The surge is the real killer for those who stay behind.
When Katrina hit Biloxi in 2005, my Aunt stayed in her home (about 1.5 miles from Biloxi beach) and my grandparents stayed in their home in Gulf Hills (again, maybe a mile or so inland).
The surge was so big that my aunt and her family ended up in the attic as their house was flooded, and my grandparents fortunately lived at the highest point in their community. The water lapped at their front steps but didn't get inside. However, 7 people in 3 different homes in their community, and significantly lower elevations, ended up drowning in their homes.
You made the right move.

I think they ssid the surge is 5 to 10. Some guy just bitched st me for smoking to close tothe hotel entrance and normally I would have politely told him to go fuck himself but I justwalkef away because im ready to burst into tears. I would have just stayed but that would habe been criminal with a 5 year old.

I have friends in FL who are riding Matty out, (I know, they're crazy) they live about 5 miles from my villa there, and they said right now it is only raining lightly and a little wind there!

I guess bottled water is all I will be drinking. The hotel cant sell alcohol after 10 pm in a state of emergency. We brought beer but not enough to last till tommorrow. Who the fuck makes these rules. I understand the resoning behind it that they want people in there right minds, but this is a 600 per night hotel. I should be able to get a fucking bloody mary.

It was a good read. Better than the movie ghost busters we ordered. I was never a fan of the original so this isnt keeping my attention either. I enjoyed reading the jokers post. It was a refreshing change of pace.
