It's being reported as rounds from the shooter rather than the Secret Service. It's been said that he took the bullet intended for trump. He was honored during one night of the republican convention, but no one took the time to ensure his name was spelled correctly.

Through my brother's 45+ year career, I have met many Secret Service agents, snipers (I know 2 of the three snipers who simultaneously took out the pirates holding Richard Phillips), and protective detail experts. Hell, my brother was a trained personal protection expert; in 2000, when rebels tried to kill Jean Bertrand Aristide in Haiti (they did manage to kill most of his protection detail), the State Department sent my brother to take over Aristide's protection detail and train the new team that was going to protect him.
I will say this: If what we have heard on the news is true (and that is a big if), at a minimum, DEI incompetence is destroying our country. Had a competent team been in place, the shooter would have been taken into custody 30 minutes before he even got on the roof.
Conspiracy theories will fester for years; was it a government plot, or wasn't it? The world may never know.
