It's insane. I've yet to come across anyone who feels like her detractors do and I've been polling almost everyone I come across. I was interested in seeing if people I actually know felt like she should have been tarred, feathered & run out of town on a rail.

Well, she tried to ask Oprah, but...

I don't think Paula Deen called Jackson for advice about how to be a better whitey. I think reaching out to him was a gesture to show the public that she's making efforts to grow/learn, and she probably hoped that Jackson would make a public comment in support of her. He did. It was a good rational statement, imo, and that's probably about all she'll get there.

This clip from the Today Show on Friday is just plain pitiful, imo. So pitiful that I almost couldn't re-watch it and laugh again (and I don't feel one way or the other about Paula Deen and what she said). Paula should shut up now; she's starting to go the Tammy Faye way. Just stop begging, breathe, and start working on a comeback plan.

Smiley_emoticons_smile I wasn't comparing their looks, but the continued tearful apologies and dramatic begging for understanding/forgiveness. I don't think Paula Deen needs to become a punchline, but she's headed in that same direction if she doesn't take a breather and regroup.

P.s. now that you mention it, with a little make-over, the physical similarities could be there too.
