Maggot, I have been a nurse for 40yrs. and believe me,we hate the paperwork also. It's gotten worse in the last 10 years. But remember...it's not the nurses' fault so be nice. You can thank your government.
As a side note...I have worked in Endoscopy for 27 years...a colonoscopy really isn't bad...it's the prep. Follow ALL of your instructions and be sure to stay hydrated. Good luck...hope all goes well and remember...SMILE . And try to be nice to the nurses...we really aren't trying to make your life miserable!

Imagine having to fill out the paperwork for a dozen handicapped adults every time they go to a new doctor because they can't. You get numb after a while. Add to that having to prep them for their own procedures when necessary. yikes.

Looks like we are in the same line of work. I used to work in a group home. Now just work one on one with a disabled individual. Have had to deal with a lot of medical issues. And gross personal issues.

I never blame the customer service people or the people that work under the doctors. They are hard working and do not deserve getting yelled at. I reserve that for a manager.

The form things go to different areas for different things and require your signature and authorisation which is why you have to fill them out. Admission form, consent form, valuables form, the list goes on. This is all so they can cover themselves legally and you wont sue them. Blame the government.
