I don't know you well enough BG, I don't think there is a character that is close to you in that show. That I have seen anyway. Maybe the young surfer dude boyfriend she had that liked to smoke pot and eat KFC and live with his parents. But thats about it.

There is a thing on FB with the trailer. I didn't watch it. I read the books but don't really have any interest in seeing the movie. I am not impressed by women that are easily dominated.

I pretty much only skimmed the first book, but I don't remember her being a doormat. I remember her being more curious, then defiant until she fell in love with him. And even then it was a two-way power share.
Not that the whole thing is even close to a beginners guide to BDSM. More a clumsily written mommy porn title from an insecure woman with a BDSM curiosity.
