I hate when they all try to put their own spin on singing that and play with all the vocal acrobatics. Just sing the fucking song, it sounds better that way.

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - HairOfTheDog - 02-01-2015

I really enjoyed John Legend's "America the Beautiful" though.

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - Duchess - 02-02-2015

I didn't like the half time show and I didn't like most of the commercials either. None of that was nearly as entertaining (to me) as I normally find it to be.

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - crash - 02-02-2015

I got a laugh out of a couple of the commercials..

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - Duchess - 02-02-2015

I laughed at the one with Tom Brady and of course I liked the puppy and the horse. I also like the one about throwing like a girl but that's about it.

My ass is draggin' this morning.

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - Maggot - 02-02-2015

I caught some of the half time show as I was getting a meatball sub but I think Katy did a good job, no lip synching with her. The Swedish writing team that does her songs have a way with words. She's a great singer even though she's dumb as a box of rocks. Have you ever seen any of her interviews? hah

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - QueenBee - 02-02-2015

The domestic violence one was based on a real 911 call.

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - Duchess - 02-02-2015

Nationwide is taking some heat for their commercial of the dead kid. They said they weren't trying to sell insurance, they were trying to provoke discussion. Riiiiight. 4.5 million dollars to provoke discussion.

[/b]Yeah, that one kind of bothered me. All we discussed was how dumb it was. I thing the domestic violence one sent a better message, in a shorter time

*sigh* yes, she is so far up herself if you looked down her throat you would see her finger.

There are quite a few people being very vocal about the seriousness of a couple of the commercials. I'd be surprised if we see more of the same next year. I believe they are valid commercials but I think they would be better served if they were aired during a different venue.

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - QueenBee - 02-02-2015

I think the domestic violence one was set during the Super Bowl by design...because of the Ray Rice thing and other shit. But hope it gets more airplay..especially during shows that more women watch. I would just be afraid that the way the message was delivered to 911 in this piece may clue in too many Asshat abusers to listen in to calls more. So, a good message for women, bad heads up to abusers

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - Maggot - 02-02-2015

I'm beginning to think that no matter what anyone does today will be meet with knuckleheads that hate things just because they can be vocal on the internet and knuckleheads that like to stir things up. A whole lotta troll like behavior in the name of politically correct righteousness, they have nothing to lose and that encourages it.

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - sally - 02-02-2015

If you're talking about me Maggot I really do hate football. Ever since I was a kid and we only had one TV which my father controlled.

That and Barney Miller.

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - Carsman - 02-02-2015

Really great game all the way through, right to the unbelievable ending!
GO PATS!

(Bud commercial was the best, the rest sucked big time! Katy show was what was expected, over the top.)

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - Duchess - 02-02-2015

Cars, what's your opinion on showing serious, thought provoking commercials during the Super Bowl? I'd be interested in reading what the rest of you think too.

RE: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - Cutz - 02-02-2015

Still no invitation to Mock's royal Superbowl party... but still holding out hope for the after-after-after-after-afterparty.

That will be when I open the pool. It's still a couple months away.

Lucky UPS guy.

Just got back, they're OK, I didn't just like them! But that's just me. (Go PATS! Smiley_emoticons_smile )
