Yes, I remember... winter is 'the rainy season'. Mudslides, etc. I don't care, I would much prefer it to this frigging snow. The only thing I really regretted in CA, was that we did not have an air conditioner. I was pretty dumbfounded about that one. Who doesn't have A/C in places where it gets THAT hot???

We didn't have AC in San Diego, but then that's paradise. Sacramento's another story, it frequently gets over 100 there in the summer.

I was in the San Jose area and we usually had a couple of weeks each summer, where the temp would be 100+ degrees. In Oregon it got up to 107 for about 2 weeks straight. I was ABOUT TO DIE. I have never been so miserable in my life. No A/C there either. I would have KILLED for an A/C.

The closer this bitch comes, the more intense the forecast is...We are now being told that it's "potentially paralyzing", that it's as bad a storm as our area has ever seen...No one here even knows how to deal with a couple inches of snow, let alone snow that will measure in feet...Jesus Christ.

i'm watching it closely too, my brother and sister are in Maryland and could see 2 feet of snow. a big concern is single-digit wind-chill temps and 50 mph winds. trees and power lines will go down. best of luck to all of you who are affected! i know the feeling of fear after a number of florida hurricanes. and some major nor'easters the years i lived here in New England before. preparation is everything.

Were getting the very outer edge of the storm. Only about 3" expected for my area. Batten down the hatches JB, looks like you are in for a very nasty weekend.

I've seen reports here between 8-18". That isn't nearly as much snow as we had during the last 'big' storm. A major consideration is supposed to be the ice we're getting today though. I've already seen the power brown-out a few times today. I'm hoping we don't lose it altogether. I have electric heat.

If we had enough regular snow here to warrant folks owning snowmobiles, I doubt folks would be nearly as worried about snow.
