Here is an email my brother-in-law received and forwarded to me (he lives in Wisconsin and I live in Illinois)...

Good Morning, Taxpayers.

When I arrived earlier this morning, I noted there are a lot of out-of-state protesters and college students with "bed head" walking around your State Capitol.

In addition to all the sleeping bags, your State Capitol is now sporting a very robust fragrance. To better help you capture the essence of this new scent, visualize the Chicago Bears locker room after them not showering for an entire season--minus the hosing they took from the Green Bay Packers! P-U!

(Pictures will be forthcoming, but you are welcome to visit and bring your own camcorders and cameras--pillows, air mattresses, etc.)

There are lots of fine armed police officers here today walking around enjoying the many sights, sounds and now smells the Capitol has to offer. A few of the police officers told me and others they don't have the ability to clear the Capitol at night. For reasons of public safety, shouldn't this inability be of greatest concern? Fires?

This is an interesting response from the Capitol Police because prior to the out-of-state invasion that took place last week, every night at 5:45 p.m., the Capitol Police would broadcast over the Capitol intercom system the following, "The Capitol will be closing in 15 minutes. Please find your nearest exit at this time." Then the Capitol doors would be closed and locked by our fine officers, and then our wonderful cleaning crew makes your State Capitol fresh and clean ready for the public the next day.

Our cleaning and maintenance crew deserve a huge debt of gratitude as they are fighting an uphill battle keeping up with the garbage and the winter slush that is being tracked in.

Also, the Bed & Breakfast industry should be taking note of this as the new State Capitol Flophouse apparently is now offering them some competition these days.

If you would like to share your concerns since you all are paying the bills, feel free to file taxpayer complaints with:

At least you (or your friend) work for a Republican. That part is good.

Quote:What would keep employers honest?

lol...this isnt 1925...the American people would keep employers honest, or the business would not have emplyees, except...

Quote:Especially if they can hire illegals instead of higher-priced American workers? I think that is my major concern with this issue.

And you think this doesnt happen? Well, as long as the Democrats remain in power, I suppose it's a possibility.

Unions, fuck'em...they drive up the price of our products, over pay lazy employees, make it impossible to fire worthless employees...and when it comes to the state employees, they expect Joe Q, Taxpayer to help fund his healthcare, union mandated raises in an ailing economy, and yes, we get to contribute to his pension fund too!!!

Fuck that.

I think I'm getting fucked. I need to move to a unionized state...

I was talking with someone about this and they had a good point. Today's labor laws (minimum wage, fair hours, anti-discrimination, etc. etc. there are a billion of them) largely protect employees. Unions go too far, IMO.

Tough times ahead for sure.
