Remind your friends that we don't need to eat dogs and cats in America and that it is illegal to do so.
Even on farm land, you need special permits to butcher animals of any sort, and a special license to dispose of the remains.
I know there are cultural differences and many cultures eat animals we don't but when you're here, in America, there is some expectancy that you become part of our culture too and that means eating other people's pets when you can easily get food no matter how poor you are.

You only need butchering permits in Pennsylvania if you intend to sell any of the meat. Otherwise it's simply considered personal use food.
I firmly believe that Burmese pythons belong in.....BURMA.

LK you cannot butcher an animal within any city limits for yourself.... I know this is fact in NY anyway. We had some friends who got in a lot of trouble for butchering goats for personal use food.

I'm not fluent on the laws regarding butchering animals in all 50 states.
I'm pretty sure dog and cat is illegal but am not sure on that.
My 'expertise' is in animal care and behavior not US butchering laws and what you're allowed to eat.

I'm guessing that there isn't a federal law regarding it, but many different sanctions depending on what state you live in.
But nonetheless I believe people who practice it are just sick and twisted retards because:
1) They're lovable animals and have been bred to love humans
2) There is not substantial meat on these particular animals, it's a waste to even consider them a food source.
3) If anyone is desperate for food, they can simply get food stamps or other benefits in different countries that combat poverty.
4) I personally do not know it for a fact, since I never practiced it... BUT from what I have heard throughout my life on the internet is that Pets DO NOT TASTE GOOD! That it is horrible meat and most people couldn't even consume it without vomiting.

Waiting for an answer from a friend of mine who is a butcher by trade. So far what he knows is that self-butchering an animal is dependent by state/county law. He's looking more closely for me now.
