Interesting question. I don't think we're "de-evolving" by any stretch of the imagination. However, I believe the evolving intelligence of man will lead to our downfall.
Our society is generally living 40 at least years longer than we used to...using up the earths natural resources, and of course, polluting at the same time. Our medical progress, has us all dependent on pills and such, in order to live longer..and therefore resulted in strains of bacteria which have also become immune, or non-responsive to medical treatment. Most of the shit that we treat today with a pill/shot, would have killed a man 200+ years ago. Hence, over population, and more resources being used up.
I think that humans have gone about as far as we can go, until genetic engineering starts coming into play (which, it will, as the earths natural resources get used up). In the long run, our intelligence will either be our saving grace, or our downfall, it just depends on how we use it. You and I won't be around to see it, though.

Meh, got nothing to do with "God"..I'm not a believer. Just realized I had to get my shit together, or I was gonna die. Plus, to quote the old NA saying..I was sick and tired of being sick and tired". So yeah, it was all me. I'm far from perfect, probably drink more than I should....but the shit that was gonna be the death of me, is no more.
