I don't entirely blame Obama for that. I blame extremists on all sides. I think the country was already frustrated over the wars, then the economy tanked, then the bailouts occurred then Obama pushed through healthcare reform, then there was the rise of the tea party and now the stupid occupy movement. Many Republicans said from the beginning that they wanted Obama to be a one-term President and seemingly they'd vote against ANYTHING he proposed.

Then there are the crazies like Nancy Pelosi who want Obama to be more left than he is.

If we elect a Republican, and the Democrats dig in their heals and cater to the occupy movement, I think that person is going to be just as fucked (unless of course the house and senate have Republican majorities).

The tea party and occupy movements scare me. There's no room for compromise. We need a viable 3rd party.
