Its not so much her that I hate its the format of the program I detest, I equate "talent" shows along with reality TV i.e - TV for the mentally challenged.

These days anyone can becomefamous, that's the problem.

I read the thread... this is the first I've heard of the woman. BUT, since you were all talking about her looks, I'm listening, not watching. She's not THAT good... sounds like a high school drama geek.

I agree, she isn't that good, I think this isanother case of oversentimentality and sensationalism, people feel sorry for her because of her sad, pathetic, tragic andneedlessly unfulfilled life.

fo sho.

I finally looked at her... she's butt ugly. That is the only reason they are all amazed. Average singin for a very under average face.

Well... truth is, her singing isn't THAT fantastic. It just seems all the more so, because she's unattractive physically. I've seen uglier women too, but she's certainly 'homely'.

If you put her voice on a 'barbie doll' body, it would hardly get a second glance. She's pretty good, but pro quality? I dunno. She's a better vocalist than I am, but I'm just average.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Go to youtube and try listening to some other singers' version of that song. She's easily as good as some of the professionals on there and better than many. She beats Aretha Franklin by a mile.

- SyberBitch - 04-16-2009

Are you kidding me??

I did go listen to Aretha Franklin and, as expected, she sings circles around Susan Boyle. It's a very different style, but Aretha's vocals are spot-on while Boyle struggled in some spots and her pitch was a little slippery.

I also happen to think that the style of the song suited Boyle's voice. I would like to hear her sing some different types of song... it's really not possible to make a fair judgment of a person's vocal ability based on one song.

Don't get me wrong, Boyle didn't 'suck', her vocals were strong and surprisingly good for an untrained voice, and her singing was emotionally touching... but at least from that example, she's hardly a world class vocalist.

Better than Aretha? Your freakin kidding me.::lmao::

::lmao::::doh::::nuts::

So we can add a complete lack of knowledge and sense of judgement about singing to your already bulging list of faults.

Remind me never to take anything you say about music and singing seriously again, ever.

Shut the fuck up and go trim you're toenails.

Have you two bothered to listen to Aretha Franklin's version? I'm not a big fan of vocal embellishments like "oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh" and other bullshit that a lot of American singersuse to bastardize songslike Whitney Houston and Beyonce do. That's why I can't stand watching American Idol when they fucking ruin the songs with that shit.

I'm not saying AF sucks as a singer, she's fine with what she does, but she stunk this song up BAD.

Paris Hilton looks like drunk white trash with money.
Ditto On That Score.

I don't even like blonds.

My order of preference is Red Heads, Raven Haired Beauties, and Brunettes. The blonds... well fuck, most of them could be run over by a truck for all I care. Especially the tramps like Hilton.

Which is why I keep telling Syber to let her hair grow back out in its natural color

It's been reddish for a while now, so STFU. :;beat::

I don't much care for my natural color.. drab dark brown. Blech.

I agree about the 'runs' and all that crap... never liked it, never will, but I was talking about singing ability. Despite the fact that Aretha loves to embellish her vocals, she's still better than Boyle.

I am curious to hear what she (Boyle) chooses to sing next. Hearing her sing a variety of stuff will prove whether she's really a damned good singer, or a one-trick pony.

Edit: BTW, that cellphone salesman from last year (or whenever it was), IS a 'damned good singer'.

- Lady Cop - 04-17-2009

she'll be on larry king tonight singing that nauseating song from "titanic".

- SyberBitch - 04-17-2009

Interesting. Maybe I'll be able to catch that one on youtube as well.

Judge apologizes to 'Talent' singing star
Susan Boyle's mannerisms and frumpy attire drew snickers and eye-rolling from her audience before she belted out a pitch-perfect number from "Les Miserables" at an audition for "Britain's Got Talent," making her an overnight sensation. Judge Piers Morgan acknowledged the laughter, including his own. "I'm sorry, because we did not give you anything like the respect we should have," he told her on CNN. full story
