Yes, he loves me.

Did you know?

-One of the most common uses of maggots today is in the fishing industry where they are used as bait to catch a variety of fish and as chum to attract the fish to the area. They are one of the most popular baits in the United Kingdom.

-Maggots have long been used to remove dead or damaged tissue from humans. The maggots feed only on the dead tissue and leave the live tissue unharmed. This process is known as maggot therapy and it is still used today in some cases.

-Maggots are also used in the forensic science industry. They can be used for dating corpses and depending on the species and amount of maggots on the corpse the forensic scientist can determine the time of death.

-Maggots eat the source of food that they hatch on. This is most commonly dead animal tissue and feces.

-Very cool and high functioning Maggots also play guitar, eat pickles and pistachios, and are skilled at home improvement projects.

Thats all nicey and everything but the big question of the day is, in the movie "the stand" never once did Larry Underwood ever sing his song "Baby can you dig your man" It still bugs me and it bugged me enough that I had to read the book.

...from the Stephan King novel? Have you read Swan Song? It has a similar storyline.

RE: Did you know..... - Maggot - 12-21-2012

Whenever I see Swan song I think of Led Zepplin.

I understand the frustration first-hand. I was in the bookstore today and looked for The Higher Education of J Phillip Stone, same as I always do. Nope, denied again.

A couple of decades after first reading that it's Paul Sheldon's best work and I still can't ever find it on the shelves. It's misery, really.

RE: Did you know..... - Jimbone - 12-21-2012

I've had a similar experience looking for the same novel! It's left me hobbled at times, but it will be around Annie day now.

Ah, you get it. It's like I'm nursing an obsession with the author and his characters.

But, just when I think that his next great work is within reach, it goes up in smoke and misery returns. Smiley_emoticons_wink

Food is an important part of New Year's celebrations around the world.

Did you know?.....

IN MEXICO, SPAIN and CUBA: For good luck, they'll eat 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight, each grape signifying one month of the upcoming year. If the grape for the respective month is sweet, they'll expect a good month… if it's sour, a bad one.

IN JAPAN: You'll hear the crunch, crunch of Buddhist monks munching on noodles in temples at midnight.

IN GERMANY: Break out the carp… the traditional New Year's Eve fish in Germany. Not only will they feast on it, but many Germans will also place several of the fish's scales in their wallets as a way to ensure financial good luck!

IN HOLLAND: Olie Bollen – literally translating to "oil balls" – are a traditional New Year's Eve treat for the Dutch. These yummy, puffy doughnuts are often filled with diced apples, raisins, and currants.

IN SOUTHERN U.S: If you eat black-eyed peas on New Year's Eve, legend has it you'll enjoy good luck the whole year through. Want wealth? Try corn bread, cabbage, collard greens, or kale!

WORLDWIDE: Shared by many people throughout the world: it's the practice of eating "ring-shaped" food during New Year's celebrations. Symbolizing the "coming full circle," the belief is that good luck will follow all who consume such foods. So bite a bagel or doughnut at midnight this December 31st... and be open to good fortune!

RE: Did you know..... - Maggot - 12-30-2012

Those Krauts are nuts. Carp sucks. Its like eating a big slug that sucks off the end of a sewer pipe. YUK!!

Did you know?...

-Memorial Day was first called “Decoration Day” because of the practice of decorating soldier’s graves with flowers.

-General John Alexander Logan ordered the day to be observed by decorating the war dead on May 30, 1868; 3 years after the end of the American Civil War.

- New York was the 1st state to officially recognize Memorial Day.

-The south refused to honor the dead on Memorial Day until after World War I when the meaning of Memorial Day changed from honoring civil war dead to honoring Americans who died fighting in any war.

-Memorial Day was declared a federal holiday in 1971.

-The tradition of wearing red poppies (now the official flower of Memorial Day) began in 1915 when, inspired by the poem In Flanders Fields, Moina Michael replied with her own poem.

We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.

I find your lack of faith disturbing; I was referring to the original Darth Vader.

Playing around; thanks for the update. Impressive, most impressive.

Hayden Christensen played Darth Vader in Star Wars episode 3.

David Prowse and James Earl Jones etc played Darth Vader in Star Wars episodes 4, 5 and 6.

So technically Christensen IS the original Darth Vader.

Lol.

RE: Did you know..... - Duchess - 05-26-2013

Seeing a couple of you "lol" cracks me up. I don't think I've ever used that expression, if I have I don't want to remember.

...and you already know I've never seen Star Wars but I do recognize some of the character names. OP, when I once heard you have a Darth Vadar mask that you sometimes wore while posting made me want to get a tiara to wear while I do. Hahaha. Shit. That still makes me laugh.

RE: Did you know..... - Cynical Ninja - 05-26-2013

I've got a Boba Fett one now as well that i wear.

If you've noticed I haven't been using any smilies that's because I can't find them on the mobile version of Mock.

RE: Did you know..... - Duchess - 05-26-2013

I don't get them on my BlackBerry either. Hi Donovan. 27
