Former Oklahoma state Sen. Ralph Shortey, a conservative Republican who ran on family values, headed up President Donald Trump’s campaign in that state.
Shortey was first elected to his seat in the Oklahoma senate in 2010 and was known for offbeat legislative proposals. He is reported to have targeted gay and transgender people with his legislative proposals.
He was busted in a Super 8 motel with a 17-year-old male whom he'd solicited for sex on Craigslist back in March. Shortey also had illicit photos of young males in his possession and was hit with child porn and child sex trafficking charges.
Shortey, a former missionary and married father of 4, just agreed to avoid trial and plead guilty on the sex trafficking charges in exchange for having the child porn charges dropped.
