I happen to know Father Christmas is indeed real, I have met him in person on more than one occassion. He uses GPS now.

No Duch, I've decided not to teach him that.
I plan to 'keep it real' with him, and tell him (aside from the story behind the 'real' St Nick, or would that be St Nich?) that it's just something fun that we 'pretend' on xmas. I've heard the arguments and I hate to sound like a bitch, but I refuse to lie to my kid.
I have an agreement with my sister, that she (or anyone else really) can tell him the Santa myth if they want to, and of course, I can tell him 'the truth', and he can just choose to believe whatever he wants. But at least he won't be coming back to me, crying, when he's 5 or 6 years old, asking me why I lied to him about Santa Claus.
I think I can make just as magical and exciting xmas for him without it. He really couldn't be any more excited than he is now.
