My social sphere is a an average size for someone of my age and socioeconomic status; therefore, I tend not to socialize with folks who are unable to maintain healthy adult relationships. Upper middle class people tend to have stable, nuclear families. moo-ooo RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - Julie - 01-28-2010 Holy shit. I am winning the poll! Ant has no votes... ::lol:: Even in her own poll, Ant is still a loser. RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - D - 01-28-2010 (01-28-2010, 10:14 AM)Julie Wrote: Holy shit. I am winning the poll! I guess the poll was too subtle for you. That or you're so desperate to turn the stigma from yourself so as to be pathetic. The nature of this poll is that the LOSER is the one with the MOST votes. So Ant is a clear winner here. RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - The Antagonist - 01-28-2010 (01-27-2010, 11:16 PM)Middle Finger Wrote: Well why the fuck wouldn't that!? You must have a very small circle of friends then Frank. I love how you figure that two failed marriages mean it's Lumpy's fault the marriages failed! Have you ever considered as it is in most cases, the man turns out to be a complete asshole or abusive after years of being together? Faking how he is from the start? Yes you have all the facts and figures on divorce rates in upper middle class families! Wait, that's Upper with a capital U. Makes it more important, doesn't it Julie? You are a snob. You base answers on socioeconomic statistics to boot! Because that makes it all the more believable huh? Oh My God! How on earth can lower middle class or even poor people have long term relationships? Impossible I bet! And you are so fucked up and warped to think that Lumpy is poor. I guess it's how you try to forget growing up in Bed Stuy? I bet you were the first person in your family to graduate college and a huge deal was made of it. I know a lil' something about this particular class of people you are referencing & the reason you may see less divorce is because Mrs. So & So doesn't want to give up her social position and lifestyle...When it comes to relationships they are no different than anyone else...It's been my experience that when one is as pretentious as you are, that you are a wannabe, that chances are you are on the outside looking in. RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - The Antagonist - 01-28-2010 Yep, they all pegged out where she grew up. RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - Middle Finger - 01-28-2010 Ant, I'd quote you but your comments are in a multi-quote mess so I will go by memory. Where did I say it was Lumpy's fault and how did I come off like I had a small circle of friends (I said friends and family by the way, and it's a large network over the years)? Bottom line: two failed marriages are rare in my world, and I believe an extreme minority in the world in general, so let's stop acting like it is as common as normal marriage or just one failed marriage. Two failed marriages is a giant red flag. Sure it takes two to tango, so I am not naive enough to blame just one person, especially with so little info. But let's stop pretending that two failed marriages isn't something to gasp at, which was the point. The point wasn't about assigning blame, it was about whether or not two failed marriages warrants a "gasp" and it plainly does. Very few people are emotionally retarded, "unlucky," "victimized," or dysfunctional enough to have two failed marriages. I'm sure the "victim MO" will appeal to Lumpy so don't worry, I am ready for that bullshit. RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - The Antagonist - 01-28-2010 Frank, the way your format your whole opinion implies it's the woman's fault. I used Lump's name because you were talking directly about her. You generalize in that vein quite a bit whether you mean to do it or not. Believe it or not, you don't always make yourself clear, what a shock. Your "world" is not the only place to pull criteria from. That's what makes it "small". I'm sorry reading the name of the person in that black bar in a multi-quoted thread is so difficult for you. It explains why you have trouble with that function. RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - LuMPyPussy - 01-28-2010 Two divorces is very rare? RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - Cynical Ninja - 01-28-2010 50% of marriages in the US end in divorce. So no, outside the catholic fairytale dreamland that is Franks family and friends, 2 divorces is not rare. It's just Frank being his usual judgemental, holier than thou, blinkered cunt self. RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - username - 01-28-2010 Upper middle class = stable, nuclear relationships? Ha! Tell that to Elizabeth Edwards. Those are the people out cheating, going to swing parties etc. Doesn't anyone watch Desperate Housewives? RE: Woe Is Me! Oh the Pain! - LuMPyPussy - 01-28-2010 Julie' a pretentious twat and that colors all of her pretentious announcements. She and her husband might have the income to be merely middle class but her background prevents her from being the socially prominent person she imagines herself to be. RE: Woe Is Me!
