How 'bout last night's DBacks' game? 5 12 hours!

I coulda run a marathon, watched 60 Minutes and cooked dinner with that amount of time.

16 innings.

I saw that this morning.

16 innings is long, but at least there was some action to keep it somewhat interesting.

My boy Jason Kubel scored the winning run for your DBacks.

I was at a game in April of 2009 when he hit for the cycle and capped off a come-from-behind win over the Angels by hitting a Grand Slam.

Is your son a jock in training?

My 19 year old is a very good athlete, my six-year old is showing promise, but my 4 year old daughter may turn out to be the best of the bunch. Very naturally coordinated and strong. She swims, does gymnastics and likes soccer.

MS, I thought of you when I saw a semi loaded with all the equipment the boys of Summer will need down in Clearwater. It's time for Spring training.

RE: Major League Baseball Opening Day - Midwest Spy - 02-13-2016

Funny you mention this.

Just went to a baseball clinic with my little guy this morning.

It's -6F right now, but never too early to start thinking about spring.

*yawns* Baseball is great for weekend napping.

RE: Major League Baseball Opening Day - Maggot - 04-23-2016

I've been listening to the games on the radio. One of the best ways with baseball. Sometimes I sit in the driveway many long time before I go in.

Red Sox kind of beat the odds lately ..........Go Pappy!

RE: Major League Baseball Opening Day - HairOfTheDog - 08-07-2016

Today Alex Rodriguez announced his retirement.

Even though I don't like A-Rod much, his press conference made me tear up. Then I snapped my sappy self out of it.

Rodriguez played in the MLB for 22 years, with many controversies along the way.

According to the official statement, he'll maintain a relationship with the Yankees as a consultant and a trainer.

Aww. I know who he is and that he's very good at what he does, that's about the extent of it. Go enjoy your money, mister.

The L.A. Dodgers are going to the World Series for the first time in nearly 30 years (since 1988).

The Dodgers were tight and outfielder Enrique Hernandez ^ hit three home runs in the playoff game against the Cubs last night in Chicago to knock the Cubs out. Hernandez had a grand slam in the third inning and drove in seven runs.

So now we wait to see whether we'll be going up against the New York Yankees or the Houston Astros.

The Yankees lead the Astros 3-2 heading into game six tonight in Houston. If New York loses tonight, game 7 will go down on Saturday.

The World Series starts on Tuesday in L.A.

RE: Major League Baseball Opening Day - HairOfTheDog - 10-21-2017

The Houston Astros smoked the New York Yankees in game 6 of the American League playoffs last night.

So, game 7 will go down in Houston today.

I'm rooting for Houston, for no good reason whatsoever.

I’m pulling for the Astros as well.

Yanks have CC Sabathia going tonight against someone named Morton.

CC has pitched in a ton of big games throughout his career, but Houston is at home and is riding some momentum.

I’ll take HOU 4-2 in tonight’s tilt.

RE: Major League Baseball Opening Day - HairOfTheDog - 10-22-2017

Houston did score 4, but the Yankees got shut out.

So, The Astros will be in Los Angeles for game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday.

What are your predictions for the series MS?

RE: Major League Baseball Opening Day - Carsman - 10-22-2017

I used to root for Dodgers when they were the "Brooklyn" Dodgers.

For no other reason then that now, I will most likely root for the "now L.A. Dodgers".

(I like to watch the "World Series" games, and the Football World Championship games.)

RE: Major League Baseball Opening Day - BigMark - 10-22-2017

I want them to play the Yankees and lose, the pendejos here can't be trusted to "celebrate".

RE: Major League Baseball Opening Day - HairOfTheDog - 10-22-2017

It’s too late for the Yankees Biggie.

You’ll have to root for Houston.

My baseless prediction is that the Dodgers will win the series in 5.

The Dodgers and Astros were baseball’s 2 best teams at the All-Star break.

They both had ridiculous records.

Both teams went through 2nd half slumps but rebounded nicely just before the playoffs began.

Justin Verlander was a key acquisition for Houston at the trade deadline and he has been almost unhittable during the playoffs.

The ‘Stros also have a deeper lineup and I think bullpens are pretty even.

Kershaw has not pitched well in the post season, so...

I’m taking the Astros in a 6 game series.
