He'll do next to no time.

I know someone who was convicted of manslaughter, he drove drunk and killed our friend and if I recall correctly I think he spent a year in rehab.

RE: the trial of michael jackson's doctor - Lady Cop - 11-08-2011

he could be looking at a mandatory 4 years. he will appeal of course.

leaks say he was placed on suicide watch, that is likely precautionary until he is evaluated. he is in protective custody.

Murray could be sentenced to as much as four years in a state prison, but his lawyers will ask for probation and "maybe a little bit" of time in the county jail.

A new California law aimed at reducing state prison overcrowding and a federal court order addressing county jail overcrowding could combine to significantly reduce Murray's time behind bars.

I was never a fan of MJ..even before he got wierd. But I feel that Murray needed to be held accountible for his death. Even if MJ took the propofol on his own..Murray provided it to him. And he should not have left the room.

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Dr. Conrad Murray, who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of pop icon Michael Jackson, will be sentenced Tuesday.

Jackson's mother, Katherine, hopes Murray gets the harshest sentence possible: four years in a state prison.

"I don't believe that he intended for Michael to die," Katherine Jackson said Monday. "He was just taking a chance."

At the sentencing Tuesday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor has a choice ranging between probation and up to four years in a state prison. But measures to relieve California prison and jail crowding could significantly shorten his time locked up.

i've been listening to the sentencing hearing, the Judge is ripping murray a new one. very rough on him. hasn't named sentence yet.

the max allowed, 4 years. in LA County Jail.

remanded.

Judge Pastor said he was barred from sending Dr. Murray, now 58 years old, to state prison, under a recent California law designed to reduce overcrowding by keeping "non-serious" felons in county jails.

I felt bad for him at first, but it really comes down to greed. MJ's Doc was a greedy bastard-he knew if he said no to MJ, he'd have been cut off the payroll. He traded his dignity, Hippocratic Oath, and freedom for $150,000.00 a year.

A significant amount of money has the power to cloud the judgment of the average person. Fact.

RE: the trial of michael jackson's doctor - Duchess - 11-29-2011

Not that it's any kind of defense...just sayin'.

RE: the trial of michael jackson's doctor - Maggot - 11-29-2011

If it wasn't him it would have been another, Jackson would have just fired him and got another.

RE: the trial of michael jackson's doctor - Duchess - 11-29-2011

So...he got four yrs. and will only serve two...in the county jail. I wonder if he knows how lucky he is.

The Jackson family told the judge that Michael's funeral cost 1.8 million. Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

Prison34

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Seven months in the Los Angeles County jail have taken a physical toll on Conrad Murray, the doctor convicted in Michael Jackson's death, his lawyer told CNN Monday.

"He looked horrible," Attorney Valerie Wass said, describing a visit last week with Murray. "I've never seen him like that. I'm shocked."

Word that Murray is suffering behind bars may be welcomed news to some Jackson fans who were angry that prosecutors charged him with involuntary manslaughter and not the more serious crime of murder.

Murray, 59, has been in jail since November when he was found guilty. He must serve two years of his four year sentence in jail, which would put his release in October, 2013.

Next Monday will be the third anniversary of Jackson's death, which the Los Angeles County coroner ruled was caused by a fatal combination of the surgical anesthetic propofol and sedatives administered by Murray.

"He told me last Tuesday 'I may not make it out of here alive. This is a very dangerous place. I'm in here dying. The system is intent on killing me,'" said Wass, who is handling Murray's appeal.

The doctor suspects his moldy, fly-infested, 5-by-7-foot cell is making him sick, causing headaches that have plagued him for several weeks, Wass said.

When Wass took Murray's complaints to jail officials, they told her his activities are restricted because "We're afraid somebody's going to pop him," she said.

Michael Jackson's family fails to exploit his death for more money.

The ridiculous (IMO) and costly civil suit Katherine Jackson filed against concert promoter AEG is over after 5 months.

The jury found that AEG was not responsible for the fact that Michael Jackson refused to use the medical doctors that they recommended and instead insisted on Conrad Murray as his physician.

AEG's attorneys claimed that they were not responsible for Michael Jackson's drug addictions, secrets, and what he was doing behind closed doors with his doctor - the jury agreed. AEG's stance in the trial was that Michael Jackson was responsible for his own death - I agree.

Attorneys for the Jackson family had asked the jury for reasonable compensation for the loss of Michael Jackson equal to $85 million for each of Jackson's three children, and $35 million for his mother.

The Jacksons really are a greedy bunch of delusional assholes.

Sometimes justice is not blind! They got just what they deserved. Respect-applause

RE: the trial of michael jackson's doctor - HairOfTheDog - 10-04-2013

Conrad Murray is scheduled to be released after two years, on October 28th.

RE: the trial of michael jackson's doctor - HairOfTheDog - 11-01-2013

Murray was released earlier this week after serving 2 years.

I think the man is an idiot. He's free now; he could go underground; attempt to disassociate himself with Michael Jackson's death and the whole Jackson clan; start a new life.

Instead, he's running around making public statements about how Michael Jackson would be appalled about how he's being treated since he's not to blame for Michael's death.

I doubt Michael Jackson would give a shit, as long as Michael was in his preferred state of comfortable numbness.

Anyway, Murray says he's $400k in debt. He's suing the states of Texas and California to get his medical license back; slim chance. Even if he succeeded, he'd never be able to secure the required malpractice insurance anyway.
