Say hello to algorithmic pricing.

I’m so fucking pissed! Started this text to my husband (but trying not to rage text). The issue with the dog began when I fractured my foot in early February. Snoots is my daughter’s bunny.

I heard from Ryan today (in an argument) that the “whole family” feels like I’m asking them for too much where Rylee’s concerned? I briefly talked with Rach about it and she said she mostly feels like it’s a fair trade since I take care of Snoots. Note: I put a motorcycle part on our cc for Ry the other day ($250) and gave Rach $600 today for her transmission work. And I OFTEN pay them on the rare occasions they actually take Rylee out (Rach earns more from that by hour than any job she has…as does Ryan). And never mind any shopping or cooking I do for “the family” or house.
So as far as I’m concerned everyone who wants to complain can fuck off (except u, just venting). I’ll make Rylee (and only her) my priority. And be just fine with that.

God damn, the fucking 26 year olds are both living here at least p/t rent free and people are bitching because I’m asking them to play with the damn dog?

I hate everyone but the dog right now.

I love this version.

Wait until they have a baby, they’ll use that as an excuse. My son went out and had lunch with us on our dime while his girlfriend was at home with the baby and that was no problem, but he bitched about having to come by here to feed the cats and bring the trash cans up while we were gone because of the baby. Baby my ass.

Oh FFS! I’m pretty tired of this shit with mine.

When I graduated high school my parents gave me a set of luggage as a graduation gift. THAT was how I was raised.

I saw a headline saying Sean "Diddy" Combs got a standing ovation from other inmates when he was returned to prison after court. FFS!

I was happy the judge at least denied him bail and I’m very curious what his sentence will be. I gather it could go as high as two ten-year terms (which would be jaw dropping). I didn’t follow the trial that closely but if the prosecution had other options I’m not sure why they chose RICO as one of them. I think he’s a douche and abuser and violent (like assault and battery, false imprisonment and so much more) but I wasn’t terribly surprised the jury didn’t convict on RICO.

Last night I was outside with the dog and no one was home and I prayed that a meteor or space junk would hit my house in that moment. I also asked for a gas line explosion or something.

Neither happened. If there’s a god, he/she has blocked me.

RE: The 2025 Trivial Drivel Thread - Duchess - 07-11-2025

If you were asked if there are any weapons in your home what would you think you were being asked?

There has been a murder of a woman and her little boy out in Utah. Her teenage son was unharmed and said he slept through it. He was then asked if there are any weapons in the home and he responded by saying he wasn't aware of there being any guns in the house. The police seem to think it's a sign of guilt because no one told him that his mother & brother were killed with a gun. I'm not defending the teenager who is likely the murderer, I'm simply saying that if anyone asked me if there are weapons in my home I would automatically think I was being asked about guns.

RE: The 2025 Trivial Drivel Thread - sally - 07-11-2025

I would automatically think that they are asking about guns. They’re obviously not inquiring about my candlesticks and meat mallet.

Me too (guns). And my husband does have some old rifle or something.

Made me think; I’m pretty sure he’s got a damn sword of some sort around here too. For a time he did some training with the thing on his way to getting a black belt.

If we had grandchildren I’d have a reason to find this stuff and make sure it was securely stored.

RE: The 2025 Trivial Drivel Thread - Duchess - 07-12-2025

$7 for a regular size jar of Hellmans. WTF. I feel like I last paid $3.

RE: The 2025 Trivial Drivel Thread - username - 07-12-2025

Yeah. Crap is pricey. I buy a lot of pasta and it wasn’t long ago that you could find a pound for $.99 on sale. Now it’s $1.79 on sale at the bigger grocery stores.

I try to visit Trader Joe’s when I can (although often they don’t have 1-2 items I want). But their prices are way better.

Our local Safeway offers “digital coupons”. I don’t have the app and I think you have to go through a download the coupons but HOPEFULLY you can just “download all”. I don’t want to sift through coupons but I find as I’m shopping that I could get quite a few things cheaper if I had the stupid app.

I last paid $5. I can't complain about food prices when I'm spending $40-50 a week on cigars and $40-50 on toys and collectibles every other week.

Life wouldn't be worth living if you couldn't do the fun stuff too, Clangy. You HAVE to satisfy yourself.

RE: The 2025 Trivial Drivel Thread - username - 07-13-2025

Well that sucked. I spent 5 hours in the ER today.

Love025

The visit was slightly planned but the length of time was unexpected. I was getting nauseous and actually threw up a couple times a day or so before the chop Suey debacle and the nausea wouldn’t quit. I had one or two experiences over the last few days where it felt like my heart was flip flopping briefly. My SIL informed me that all that can be indicative of a heart attack (particularly in women). I thought about going yesterday but decided to wait and go this morning. Except for my foot fracture I haven’t seen a Dr for many years and I was hopeful to basically get pretty thoroughly checked out in one fell swoop. The beginning was very fast, blood, urine tests, vitals, an EKG and a chest x-ray. The last 4 hours were a lot of waiting. Nothing obviously wrong (the ER Dr referred me to a cardiologist to wear a monitor for a week or something). My BP going in was 166100 but came down to 13787 over time (not ideal but perhaps something I can address if needed with the cardiologist).

So a battery of tests but thankfully nothing that kept me there even longer.

I was slightly concerned about my heart but freaked out about the thought of getting admitted/having to stay.

I’m free!!!

RE: The 2025 Trivial Drivel Thread - Duchess - 07-13-2025

5 hours, goddamn.

I'm glad you're free! Don't you dare blow off seeing the cardiologist!
